Im starting to think being a k-pop fan is a lot like being a closet homsexual like I really want to be open with it but people have just been so negative so far. Even my sister was like wtf why do you like asian girls they have no personalties, whats next u gonna move to japan. The whole music is universal angle didnt fly with any of them, they were just like why the fuck would you listen when you cant understand a thing and you have so much better music that you can actually understand. So Im kinda confused how I got so passionate over this and whether I will grow out of it or should try and force myself out of it because It does kinda seem wierd. I speak no korean and yet spend so much time on k-pop and the variety shows. Anyone else non asian feeling confused or ashamed of liking k-pop Like this?

I'll be the first to admit to having crappy taste in music, but we all have guilty pleasures. I can't imagine being THAT uncomfortable about it. A few of my friends like Miley Cyrus an unreasonable amount and K-pop is no worse. tbh I would also put a lot of metal under the "crappy taste" category which will probably get me flamed, but I'm about as embarrassed saying I listen to it as saying I listen to k-pop.

I speak no korean and yet spend so much time on k-pop and the variety shows. Anyone else non asian feeling confused or ashamed of liking k-pop My take on this is that being infuated with something is always a great experience and is something you will miss when you get older. When I was 15 I was a die-hard Nirvana fan, then later I was a die-hard Quake 3 fan and so on but as I grew older it the passion grew weaker and now I'm not a die-hard fan of anything, not even Starcraft. I'm not saying life gets worse as you get older, it's just that thrilling passion, that fire that flickers and fades eventually, will turn into something deeper, but steadier and calmer. That's also how it goes with love. So what I want to say it is, enjoy it while it lasts, it's a great experience and it's just fun to be a hardcore fan of something, regardless of what it is. At the same time you got to know that others will not be able to understand. Being an extreme fan of something will always look weird to bystanders who have no connection whatsoever to what you are a fan of. And it's not them being assholes, it's you being stupid to expect them to be neutral about or even like it. Just look for others with the same interest, enjoy the fanboism and move on when you're done with it. I think it's an important experience and it doesn't even matter what you are a fan of. edit: btw I think you're weird, because you watch variety shows without understanding them, but why would you give a fuk.

I'm not Asian, I like k-pop, people have been known to call me a faggot because of it, I have no fucks to give.

Top streams the shows and provide the downloads after the shows I'll amend to this. There are weekly music shows where singers and groups go and promote their songs on. Typically every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, there's Music Bank, Music Core, and Inkigayo for people to appear on and promote their songs (basically means they go sing on a live stage, which is broadcasted on TV). Music Bank is Friday 18:30 KST roughly Music Core is Saturday 16:00 KST roughly Inkigayo is Sunday 16:00 KST roughly As for kpopflash, a few of us (primarily TOP) have banded together to create a site that keeps track of who performs on what programs, as well as providing HQ streams and HD cuts of performances after the event is over. Hope that's enough to help you.

It's a pain in the ass to be honest. However, the latter two are at nice times, typically right after the 13:00 PLs and before the 17:00 or 18:30 SLs.
