Day 1 On the surface, the town of Liquidia seemed prosperous and at peace. After all, Liquidia had weathered numerous hardships during its long existence, including several incursions by the various criminal organizations it harbored. Rather than buckling under these incursions, the townspeople fought back fiercely. Sometimes, they managed to shoot themselves in the foot or loop the noose around innocent necks in the process. However, more often than not, they succeeded in wiping out the dark influence of the Mafia and reestablished order in the town. However, all that was about to change. Under the leadership of Sheriff Incognito and Mayor Kennigit, the town recently welcomed a flood of newcomers and returning expatriates hoping to make new lives for themselves in Liquidia. Unfortunately, the influx of new citizens also meant an influx of new Mafia members, eager to wreak havoc on the town. Without wasting any time, the new Mafia decided to announce their presence by launching a bold strike right into the heart of the town. One evening, Incognito and Kennigit were sitting down for a meeting with their legal advisor, Qatol. Outside the window, the setting sun painted the buildings and streets with a deep blood-red as the shadows lengthened and darkness slowly fell. While the three were deep in a discusion about the legal ramifications of controlling Liquidia's native wild pony population, the doors to Incognito's office suddenly flew open. The impact of the doors slamming into the walls toppled the cups of highly caffeinated black tea that were sitting on the desk. In the sudden silence, the bodies of the security guards posted outside the door dropped to the ground with a deafening thud. Two newcomers strode inside. Though their faces were in shadow, Incognito, Kennigit and Qatol could read death in their darkened features. "Nice town you got here," the first newcomer quipped. "We'll take it." With that, he launched himself forward at the three town leaders, lifting his fists and taunting them with strange barbaric noises. Incognito was the quickest to react, and ran toward the corner of the room containing the refrigerator opening it to use the door as a shield. Unfortunately, the killer took advantage of the opportunity and kicked Incognito into the refrigerator and slammed the door shut, locking him into the cold. Glancing back, he noticed Kennigit rushing at him with a knife he found in the kitchen drawer. The killer blocked Kennigit's blade with an apple that had had fallen out of the refrigerator and swiftly proceeded to shove the remains of the apple down Kennigit's throat before throwing him out the window. The second Mafia member glared at Qatol in disgust and contempt. "Vile, dirty scum," he muttered, shuddering. He pulled out a thin knife and ran forward to stab Qatol in the chest. As Qatol lay dying, his lifeblood seeping from his wound, his killer carefully dragged the body into the closet, making sure to clean up the pool of blood on the floor. Surveying their work, the two Mafia members grinned at each other with the satisfaction of a job well done. Now that Incognito the Sheriff, Kennigit the Mayor, and Qatol were now dead, the town would surely fall into chaos. The mafia silently slunk back into the shadows and returned home, seeking to blend in with the innocent townspeople in the same way that their bodies blended in with the encroaching night. *** No clue area The game has begun.
