If we trade a sturdy shelter construction or immunity for 2 food (one for bum/LSB based on which of them is using their day action for the trade, and one for myself) I can use my day action to get the PM circle going.

Bum/LSB, what do you guys think?

Chaoser/Lemonwalrus would either of you be interested?

good post, LDK. however i'm thinking that a sturdy shelter should go for more than 2 food. because most likely every player will build at least 1 shelter to start off with (and probably tomorrow; i'm guessing that tmr the chance of a storm happening will be around 50%), and every time there's a storm, people will have to rebuild their shelter. so to maintain a shelter in this game will already no doubt cost at least 2 food by day 3 or 4, and a sturdy shelter will last for the entire game.. so once a player "buys" a sturdy shelter, he won't have to spend a single cent on protection for the rest of the game.

if we can get 3 food for a study shelter, we can use 1 food for bum, 1 food for you to start a PM circle, and a 3rd food for LSB should he choose to cheer somebody on for, say medicine..


Sounds like solid logic to me, my only concern would be whether or not the scavenger would be able to scrounge up 3 food for a single trade since it seems like the scavengers are all trading away their excess food in small increments for many small benefits as opposed to one big one. Also the rules text leads me to believe that When you scavenge, no matter what amount of food you acquire you immediately eat one of them(?).3 food for a sturdy shelter does sound like a good deal though if Bum is up for it. I have a handyman in my group, rean. Here's what we need to do. We need to give shelter to all the scavengers first. This way they can continue to scavenger food daily without having to worry about choosing between scavenging and building shelter for a storm. Scavengers will allow for other roles to do their actions instead of wasting time scavenging for food. What should happen is this. Rean and bum build houses and give them to the scavengers in return they will get food. Me, LW, and Coag scavenge and give food to people. Meds should be given to those that lose a 1 HP. The longer we stay at 5 HP each, the longer it take for the SKs to kill us. We need to keep the Ex-Marine alive as well since he's the most important person at finding the SKs.

/sigh, my mistake chaoser, not only did I mistakenly remember which scavengers had handymen in the groups, but I completely overlooked coagulation when browsing the Game Starting post for who were scavengers. (My bad coag, feel free to weigh in on how you would feel about trading food for shelter)

I agree with the idea though, scavengers definitely gather food more efficiently than any other role does anything, so if we can get the scavengers to agree to supply food to other people in exchange for shelters/meds/immunity I think that would work to everyone's benefit.

Yay! We won and I didn't even have to spend too much time playing the game for a high score! Too bad we didn't win any rewards. Free meds, food, and shelter would have been awesome... Maybe there will be a reward challenge later...*cough cough* even a small clue would have been awesome... I wonder if Node got a clue... >.>

agreed, i think this is the best course of action to take atm. the most economically feasibly way for people not to lose their daily action due to storms is to churn out as many "sturdy shelters" as possible before the first storm hits. we have 2 handymen who can churn out 2 sturdy shelters per day, and 3 scavengers who can churn out 9 pieces of food daily..

You can store as much food as you want and it will also go to the grave with you, so I don't recommend hording. Food is consumed at the end of the day automatically.

Gotcha...what I was getting at was theoretically scavenging as a non-scavenger, collecting 1 food, and then trading that food away in the same day leaving you with no food for the day, or a scavenger collecting 3 food for the day and then trading away all 3.

Yes you must vote while in tribal council. There are 2 cheerleaders who have the ability to make someone immune to voting, but I believe they already used their day action.

Challenge
Starcraft Poetry
This challenge is simple, each person must write a starcraft (1 or 2) related poem. The poem will be judged based on relevancy, structure and form, and creativity. We have 3 judges (including myself) who will judge the poem. The requirements are as follows.

1. Post a starcraft related picture
2. Write a poem (minimum 30 words) about said picture.
3. Post the picture and poem in the thread.

You may only submit ONE time, so take your time writing it.

The judges will rank the poems and take the top poem from each team. The teams with the top ranked will win the challenge. (therefore it is only necessary to submit 1 poem per tribe, but 1 per person gives you better chances of winning).
