I wish I never mentioned my age at all. 13 is a lot younger than 16 in terms of mental development. I'd say that being a 12 or 13 year old masters player is an amazing achievement and validates the thread. By the time you're 15 or 16, you're probably at 80-90% of your normal mental ability, whereas a 13 year old seems more like 40-50% to me. Obviously, I'm no doctor but as a normal person, I find such a young masters player to be very impressive. Or you have a lot of spare time at that age and you only play SC2. I know at least one such case :D Now getting to GM will be the real test :p gl with that.

Maybe it's just me, but knowing OP is 13 makes me less likely to watch than before. Go figure.

Why is everyone such a douche nowdays?
Its not that masters is hard (for anyone that really tries), but doing it at that age means that he has the potential to become great if he keeps playing. Like someone else mentioned, he still has at least 5 to 9 years of not having to support himself (HS & college) so ...

Holy shit, all of you, including poke, why are you on this kids back so hard? Congratulate him on making masters and playing to the level he has gotten. Tell him good luck with his stream and move on. Why do you feel the need to bring negativity into someone else's thread? Do you feel obligated to be emo as hell all over someone trying to get involved in the community?
Blows my mind how rude some people can be. @OP good luck! Don't listen to this others who, online at least, come across as much younger than you. Keep practicing ^_^!

The only reason people are on his back is because he is using his age as a crutch. If he just said - Hey, High Masters Terran streaming some fun games with commentary! - Nobody would have minded. Instead it is the idea that because he's young he's somehow exceptional and atypical that doesn't sit well with people. He has MORE time than most, MORE security than most, so what's stopping him from getting good? Nothing. That's why it isn't all that special/impressive.

Did you read the thread?
He's begging for attention not cause he's good but because he's 13.
He's even dumb enough to be willing to share his FB and e-mail to prove it. If you don't call that attention whoring I don't know what is.

Still waiting for the first 80+ GM.

Wow wow wow. Why does him being 13 piss you off that much?
He presents his stream with a very brief message, whatever, perhaps he picks weird points to promote and is a bit naive about the whole FB thing. Whoring? Come on.

do people actually mean that his age is irrelevant? why would that be?
if a 18-year old is masters thats not interesting at all, but a 13-year old that already is at that skill level is like a footballplayer playing with kids 5 years older than him and beating them. of course its relevant and impressive..
maybe i just think this way because im 27 and not threatened.. i would not be surprised if most of the haters in this thread is around 17-20

No, it isn't impressive, for the reasons I already stated. I guarantee that he has more time to play than most, since he has no obstacles in his way. No bills to pay, minimal homework, etc.
For the record, I'm turning 24 in two weeks.

You obviously missed the point of my post. Why do you bring negativity into the thread? Does this guy mean that much in your life that you have to go out of your way to post something ridiculous in his thread? Do you really need to "prove" that it isn't impressive, that it doesn't matter, that he shouldn't be watched?
If it really means THAT much to you then YOU'RE the one with problems. If he thinks it was important enough to focus on his age then let him.
+ Show Spoiler +I suppose some people were not raised with proper etiquette. Just happens a lot of them flock onto these forums now. Very sad to see imho. edit: Holy shit the people in this thread O.o Finished posting here.

First of all I believe that you guys should stop arguing about hate etc. on someone's stream thread thingy If you don't have much to say then there really is no reason to say it.
On a very VERY hypocritical note, I really don't see why he used the age in his title. It irks me. When Illusion (used to be on vile, and revoki previously) began as a high masters / GM player, he was 14. I never heard once from his mouth "by the way, I'm only 14". He played and got better and I respect him for keeping his modesty while still being such a strong player.
On topic again, good luck Hope you improve greatly and have fun with your streaming!

So much Envy in this thread

13 is old mate. When I was 13 I was tearing up wc3 and was Lvi 20 plus on the old ammo which is about master level in sc2.
I want to see the 8 year old master Lvlevel player. That'd be some epic trash talking

And? Funny how people like to lecture others about their own definiton of "maturity" to make themselves feel grown-up/superior/mature. He is 13 give him a break.
"Hey, High Masters Terran streaming some fun games with commentary! - Nobody would have minded."
Actually I naively thought that even with his current opening post still noone would've minded but I always forget about the human nature.
"Instead it is the idea that because he's young he's somehow exceptional and atypical that doesn't sit well with people."
With people with the emotional maturity of a 9 year old kid.
"Talk to me when you're paying your bills AND getting better at SC2. "

Much harder than masters lol, masters is pretty easy.

And no, age is seriously irrelevant, the only important factor is practice time.
Trust me, getting master at 13 is really not hard. Maybe if it was GM it would be slightly impressive, but either way the age is irrelevant. I wasn't trying to bash in any case - just simply recommending that he not rely on age as a prop for popularity.

Our "underbarn" have a lot of spare time just like all kids have. They use that time to play games.
