I like orbs casting so I wish he would at least man up and say it was him, sorry, I'm trying to restrain myself but I get really emotional, or something likewise. Instead of what at least seems to me like blatantly trying to lie his way out.

From me using the N word a single time in the last 2 years against a proven maphacker, and for you people to come in MY HOUSE (aka my stream thread) and try to tell me I use it every single day as part of my regular vocabulary is slanderous and hypocritically highly offensive.
Try to at least put some thought into your words before you spew them out of your keyboard
I remember you using that word a couple of months ago on your stream. So you probably shouldn't stick with the "1 time in two years" story. If you had been a mature person, you would have admitted the use of that word, apologized, and said you were gonna stop using it. Trying to sugar-coat such situations rarely works, like at all.. (I am not saying you're the one who made the recent offensive remarks, but I specifically remember you using much of the same language a few months back, as I got offended).

Maybe you just stop annoying orb... and go somewhere else???
God damn orb is just awesome, his (sometimes) rage makes it entertaining as hell. Stupid people that just open threads and try to flame someone and after that laugh in their dark room, get out please.
Looking forward to the next GameOne cast <3

I Agree.. Just look at the past when other Drama like this has popped up with certain players.
Some complained, Some ignored, Some Cheered
This is going to blow over really soon so I suggest we stop giving Orb more problems than he needs. If he did it or Didn't do it, Im sure he's learned a lesson regardless.

Hihi, just wanted to link EG Alex's comment here as well. There seems to be no TL thread specifically on this topic.
EG Statement re: Orb situation incoming.
From Reddit:
hey, everyone. alex (ceo of evil geniuses) here. i'll be making a formal statement about this situation later today. i just wanted to assure everyone that we're aware of these allegations, and that we're taking them very, very seriously. there will be ramifications here. their severity is something we're still determining, but there's no doubt that the situation requires action on our part. please try to be patient as we discuss the matter internally.

Jeez, as always this community blows things way out of proportion. This is the internet and stuff like this will happen, just because he's a part of EG now doesn't make him some flawless being incapable of doing any wrong, orb is human like any of us.
As a community we're so quick to bring into question the character of our peers based on simple mistakes and/or lapses in judgement, but the fact is everybody here is guilty of doing something just as bad, but that doesn't mean we all don't deserve to be a part of this community.

As far as I can see there is only really one course of action that EG can take... the dismissal of Orb.
In this day and age using racial slurs in the way Orb has is completely unacceptable and in any occupation it should have the most severe penalty.
Obviously Orb was frustrated when he used such language, and I honestly don't think the guy is a racist, but this does not excuse such vulgarity. EG would do right by the whole community by making a stand and showing that this sort of thing has no place in esports.
Blatently lying about it is also deplorable.

Ya... Vehemently deny all allegations and delete all evidence and eventually you will no longer be in any trouble!
Sick lesson.

Orb doesn't even know who he is bm'ing so hard on the ladder. What if he is playing a 12-yo african-american or someone who is homosexual? He needs to realize exactly why everyone is so upset about this, instead of pretending it didn't happen.

Orb, don't even respond. Talk with EG and not with all the haters on the forums. You aren't going to change their opinion with anything you say so don't even attempt it. Let this all die down.
I'd like to say it would also be unprofessional of EG to just flat out get rid of a great up and coming caster just because of a problem that can be worked on.
I personally don't mind anything Orb does and I find it entertaining sometimes. Destiny made an argument on SOTG a while ago about using the words retard and rape on stream and it applies to this situation completely.
edit: You just know 70% of these people are posting and then refreshing the thread every 5 minutes waiting for any response from you so they can be hypocritical and harass you.

Go to the replay to confirm this. I guarantee you can prove from the replay that orb was indeed playing on his account in that game. Replays ran through SC2gears or other programs (like BWChart) has been able to determine a player for years just through his hotkey setup, spamming tendencies, etc.
I don't even care about the fact he raged, the fact he lied to the community is appalling. Its not a fact that he lied. We have no proof that his friend was really playing nor do we have proof that it was really him. Until we prove its him thru scgears or whatever you can't say with absolute certainty that it was him. That may be true, but you have to be dumb to think it wasn't him. If you've spent any time watching his stream playing ladder, the n-word is a regular occurrence in his rage vocabulary. That's what happens when you take some random kid from the World of Warcraft community and make him a notable personality. Sounds like you've never watched my stream before if you think it's a regular part of my vocabulary. This type of blatant lying slander should be bannable in my own stream thread...
rofl... sounds like someone is moving back into mom and dads basement... grow up man up and admit it instead of lying to the community and it wouldn't have been so bad... now you just look like a 14 year who tries to lie and cover everything up.

Yea, and that argument was debunked thoroughly through posts on reddit and TL here by anyone with even a rudimentary community college understanding of semantics. It boiled down to, Destiny felt he should be able to say anything he wanted because he asserted that his communicative context was universally understood as joking/not serious language use and because it's his "personal" stream, but the ways in which that is ignorant, fallacious in principle and inappropriate for a public figure are numerous. It applies to this situation completely because both speakers are immature white males with reckless language use who refuse to reevaluate their schema regarding the effects of saying certain words, and it's still completely idiotic.

There's an interesting discussion of this between Incontrol and Destiny on SotG 41, and regarding the use of harmful words (rape, N... etc.) Incontrol (orb's pseudo-teammate) states that:
"my opinion is that as we become more accessible and viewed by a lot of people, the impetus is on us as spokespersons of Starcraft 2 in this flourishing market that we need to reform ourselves."
At this juncture in the SC2 road I definitely agree and I'm interested to hear if him and other major personalities still feel the same way.

I'd almost go so far to say that if you're a fan of orb, you should probably tell him you don't like it either. Hard to imagine anyone being stoked about orbs behavior. Telling orb to ignore his other fans and claiming your a true fan is detrimental to humanity. Seriously, just go fap to his rage screen shots and let the grown ups talk, please and thank you.
If you're part of a public organization (Orb and EG) What's so hard about watching what you say? That's the number one rule. You're not the little nerdy kid in your parents basement anymore, acting tough. You're a professional. Act the part. Music: one of the largest industries on earth, some of the most famous bands in the world have had to censor their music for performance on TV. They change it because they want to appeal to the most people and continue to make money.
Change your attitude, appeal to a larger audience, profit.
If you're interested in keeping your job and earning (easy) money in E-Sports, you should probably man up, orb.

To be honest, there's a difference whether he meant it or whether he didn't mean it. I call my friends niggers and jews all the time, but I don't mean anything derogatory to my friends or to those particular races--it's just internet culture and how it forces you to not be offended by much at all. But there's a difference when you outwardly mean what you say, calling random people dumb niggers on B.Net seems like he meant it 100x over.

Wow, orb would be the last one I expeted to resort to this language. Well, so much for him... :-/

I agree completely. Behaving like this in any social setting is a problem. I don't think it necessarily means Orb is racist, or even a terrible person, but it definitely signifies to me that he is not someone I would ever care to associate with, and likely someone who has a reasonable amount of social deficiencies that he should address.
The "lol he doesn't have social deficiencies its just bnet noob" or "its just a ladder game who cares" mentality is silly and ultimately self destructive. Rationalize your own BM however you want, but someone who behaves the way those screenshots indicated needs to do some serious self consideration of their personality and their place in society. I would sever ties immediately as EG.

Just wondering, was he caught three times one after another, or just caught once and three incidences popped up?

I know man, the level of scrutiny that a guy like orb gets is astonishing to me. Many of the people raging about this are bored and not actually offended at his use of the word "nigger," or "faggot."
Now, I'll agree that these are venomous words, but for fucks sake, this language was a vessel for his rage and I seriously doubt it comments on him being a racist at all. I think, if anything, orb needed a harsh lesson in professionalism, and I suppose he's getting it now but people are treating the guy like he is the head of the KKK.

Orb... you disapoint me. after your last 6 months of great analyticle casts, i have to admit i became a fan. i spoke so highly of you to all of my friends. But no more.. you disgust me, you dont deserve the HONOR to be a part of my favorite organization, Evil Genius.
Please go away
