Just looking at the players v Persie, Gomez, Ronaldo and Torres/LLorente are probably better but I wouldn't choose them. Topscores usually make most goals in the poule fase and poule B is just so difficult that the German, Dutch and Portugese players are not so likely to score much there. Besides there is a decent chance one of them, especially Ronaldo or v Persie, doesnt evne advance after the pool. Except for Ronaldo those guys are not even the clear cut number ones. Sure they will most likely be the starting eleven but might not play the full 90 because of great players on the bench or even worse might not start the next game if their replacement happens to do well (Klose instead of Gomez, Hunterlaar instead of v Persie etc.) For Torres/Llorente it's even worse as it's hard to predict who will even play or they won't be swapped much. Spain also tends to score more with midfielders it seems anyway. France is underrated, has an easy pool (especially as Ukraine's team might be sick/recovering) and Benzema is their definatey number one. Russia has the easiest pool by far so they have a decent chance to provide the topscorer even if they don't get past the quarters. Silva for spain also looks a reasonable choice to me as I think he will play all the time and is just a very important player who scores often (and for spain), torres just hasn't been good for years.

I still think there is a very good chance the topscorer is a Russian, they play offensively and have arguably the easiest opposition. Kerzhakov fighting!

Also who are the backups in the poll? why? you don't think group A is by far the easiest group to advance out of? i don't think a lot of playing time is guaranteed for klose, huntelaar, or even torres.

It will highly depend on style of the teams and some single-match performances. You know how it goes, one hat-trick in 5-0 won match can clinch it for some guy noone is considering yet. However, Germany is most likely to go all along to the final and I don't quite believe in Gomez. Benzema and Ronaldo were terrific last season so they will perform as well.

EDIT: For golden boot I'd go with Torres, Muller, or Sneijder.
