So with David Villa out, who do you guys think will score the most goals?
Poll: Who will win the Golden Boot?Gomez (70) 30% Other (37) 16% Van Persie (31) 13% Torres (29) 13% Benzema (19) 8% Ronaldo (17) 7% Klose (13) 6% Balotelli (10) 4% Huntelaar (6) 3% 232 total votes Your vote: Who will win the Golden Boot? (Vote): Huntelaar (Vote): Ronaldo (Vote): Klose (Vote): Balotelli (Vote): Benzema (Vote): Torres (Vote): Van Persie (Vote): Gomez (Vote): Other
I personally think, given the way the team is set up, France will get quite far with Benzema as their key man.

This is pretty damn hard to predict, but I'm gonna go with Van Persie.
|
I feel like Germany is going to win, so I will go with gomez
|
What about Müller, most Goals in the last cup? Title defender of some sorts?
|
Pogrebnyak or Kerzhakov could very well win it if the Russian machine is fully functioning.
|
ROFL 3 votes for both Torres and Gomez. I'm backing my man Van Persie. Benzema and Müller will probably be his biggest contestants. Lewandowski and Jelavic could get up there as well if they have good games.
|
Huntelaar is my pick. One of the most deadly strikers in europe given service. Sad that he got offloaded by AC/Real Madrid even with really good goal/per minute returns, just didn't get enough time on the pitch.
|
Have to go with van Persie. Curious about what kind of odds you would get for Torres though, may be a clever bet assuming he sees the pitch.

Anyone voting for Gomez hasn't seen him play this season. He only scores vs small fodder.

I don't think any striker from Group B is gonna win the golden boot, since their games will be very close and its hard to score alot if your opponent is as good as you.
Actually, despite a shit league run from Torres, he may win the golden boot if he can score against Ireland and Croatia. Your team don't need to get to the final for one to become the golden boot winner, IIRC a Russian striker won the golden boot in WorldCup 1994 with 6 goals while Russia can't even get pass the group stage, lol.

i dont wanna be the guy to do this but its euro..... messi is argentinian

I think Ronaldo would have this easily if it wasn't for Portugal probably not getting through from their group.
Voted Benz.

Van Persie. the one man team!
|
As an Arsenal fan I hope its not RVP. He's spent his whole career getting injured at inconvenient times so it would be nice for once if he got injured 10 minutes into the first game and that put him out till the transfer window was over.
I guess just playing badly would be better but I doubt that will happen.
Also you know who won't score more goals than most of the players on the list. Ireland T_T
If I was a betting man I'd go for Torres or Muller, the odds are pretty good for them and if Spain or Germany make the finals, which is always a possibility, they will likely be right near the top of the goals scored list.

Kerzhakov I think is a very good call - not just his 2011/2012 club form but also, especially as Russia's main threats going forward are Arshavina and Shirokov, his Zenit teammates, so they'd be very familiar with each other already. It's a pretty short tournament as well, you can see somebody scoring 6 goals in 4 matches. Hattrick vs Greece is foreseeable. I suppose with that theory, Lewandowski is another good choice.
