But it's also hard to just *come up* with something better, i would for sure *set* some players in (WCG participants/quarter finalists or something, winners/finalists of other tourneys...) and then have a ladder where *the rest* can brawl it out. Or just have a *closed* ladder with no non participants playing an important role. I just hate to think about the fact, that some people that probably could and would qualify, just lack the time to do it right now. Well, will be awesome anyway  . | ||

But the chance that he wins isn't extremely high (as in close to 100%). He is not invincible, there are several people who have a noteworthy chance of taking him out in a boX, including any kind of nonstandard play that may catch him off-guard. Assume that he gets into the top16, then, to win the tourney, he has to beat 4 players. Assume that he has a 90% chance of winning against each of them. The chance that he wins the whole tourney then is 0.9 * 0.9 * 0.9 * 0.9 = 0.6561, so less than 2/3rd. And I honestly doubt that he has a 90% chance of winning against each of the players he will face. If he had 70% against them all, his chances of placing first would be down to 24%. 70% was chosen arbitrarily to show how quickly the overall chance decreases. I don't think anyone can give reliable values for this. | ||

It's way safer to be top 4 directly and only have to beat 2-3 people for a lot of cash, than risking to lose to someone in the top12, who can take you down 2 games out of 3 even though you would probably win a bo9 against him. That's what I meant. It's not like it's Bisu or Jaedong there, of whom you are pretty sure that he won't lose a bo3 against anyone in the entire TSL. That is all I meant about the #1 top foreigner not being such a sure thing. If it were, then TSL wouldn't be so fun now would it? | ||

Thus the "you" is a hypothetical "you" as well: anyone who lets the Protoss gets away with a 12-nexus is "in bad shape" for that game. | ||
