Their comments were very dark jokes, during a general grieving time, sure, but it was in no point disrespectful to anyone, neither TB, nor his relatives, nor the community supporting him. It's not like they made fun of him, what he did, what he was, or (which would have been actually absolutely terrible) what he went through. I honestly do not get why it got more than a warning. Neither of them has such a bad posting history in this regard either. | ||

Saying news of his death should be spoilered makes fun of the fact that his death was a bit of a surprise.... I think it's very bad taste | ||

but maybe i can give willing people lost in translation reasoning behind my post? Bringing humor and craziness to someone's wake is something old people do, do well or not, but they do.. .. mmm and yes i'm old, or even worse i consider myself old one could say!? i feel like it is a time to lead not a time to follow. When you have gone to half a dozen mortuary social venues yourselves.. maybe you will know what real grief control is all about maybe? Maybe (like me) that will make you want to do something with all that repressed "good intentions" denied .. and maybe you will decide to make people laugh and uplift them in their hour of need? .. this whatever the cost to yourself (since doing nothing would be worst)... Maybe your jokes will tank or maybe you will save some people.. but in any case at least you will have tried. So .. more precisely about this "situation".. lets "set the scene" shall we? We are not at tb's wake, we are on tl. Tb was not on tl anymore.. (i personally made a stink about him getting "pushed out" at the time) and now he will never come back to type here.. ..so i made the joke because i think it is important to do so, on tl! This is where/when i thank mods for leniency in the temp ban (it being a temp ban), this is when i thank oppiska for being, thank my mum for life, thank my kids for hope and my wiffu for love <3 Humor is life! The latter can be funny, but also very very hurtful. The mere fact that you think something is funny doesn't mean you should just say it. These wise words come from years and years of making funny, hurtful jokes and my girlfriend getting really upset at me on multiple occasions. | ||

The idea of banning a random subset of "not serious enough" reaction in LR threads, places that are meant for rapid communication and never to be read again, is a perfect example of that. I can somewhat understand where this comes from, this used to be a place run by mostly kids for mostly kids and this attitude is a remnant from this kindergarten social structure, but now that the average age of a TL user slowly approaches 30, this is just not gonna fly. You can ban me all you want, but I guarantee you that there just will be more users slowly growing into realization how bullshit this whole attitude of the moderation team is. Seeing as how banned posters can't post even in Feedback (which again, is silly), I would appreciate if you could circulate this response on some of your super-secret internal forums. Or even just your silence, if you don't have anything nice to say about it? You say yourself "keep away the trolls"... well, one man's joke is another man's troll post. And to me, your post looked a lot more like trolling than joking. So I guess the mods succeeded in their mission? | ||

So I guess the mods succeeded in their mission? Im quickly gonna put my 2 cents in that i think Opisska knew that he'd get banned for that post and isn't criticizing it. He's moreso in general criticizing the moderation. I can be wrong, but from what i've seen in the chats on our discord he's not opposed to that ban, but is critical of moderation in general. Also if i was Seeker's alt i wouldn't be getting banned for a week for saying ":D" ;D | ||
