Honestly, I think you two agree on far more than seems apparent; the problem is that you both approach discussion in virtually opposite ways.

I remember back when I was just starting to visit ABL IRC and you and MDvajayjay routinely made fun of all the highfalutin stuff I had to say about politics/society/culture. yea, idk, i guess i'd just let my own words speak for themselves since i said exactly what i was trying to do. i've found i need to do that in my USPOL posts lest i be purposefully misconstrued for the worst. which is fine, it's an easy attitude to find ones self in when being attacked all the time.

if the samizdat tradition is being an asshole top to bottom i can't say i support it.

I am not sure whether reporting Ej who is organizing LRTL was such a practical idea, but one has to make sacrifices to the ABL.

so is it true that you don't see any difference between "pretty bright" and "smartest man I've ever met?" were you actually trying to get some clarification on why anyone would think those mean different things?

or were you engaged in a bit of (purposeful) misconstrual yourself?
