I kept this up for quite a few years, and eventually it got to be a pretty well-known and people started to expect it whenever streaming. People went to pretty far lengths to try to avoid getting PM spammed, including streaming from private servers. That was what I got a perm for on my other account, which is ironically completely unrelated to the general SKT/Bisu fanboyism that I was mostly known for.

Without context, you may be right. Or you may be wrong. Why do you care so much? As long as stancel isn't messaging mods about abuse of power, nothing worth noting happened.
In other words: assume it was two guys playing around, and the ban is a joke ban, until any evidence is given that there was some kind of actual conflict leading up to that situation.
