Laertes was just temp banned for 1 week by EvilTeletubby. That account was created on 2010-08-21 03:14:37 and had 816 posts. Reason: Finding a team Meh = racist?!? What the fuck. Get off TL if you're going to try to post that garbage. I agree with the ban, but I thought there was a policy where a mod shouldn't ban in a discussion the same mod is involved in. Instead leave it to someone else to make the call. I think I remember some mod said that, but maybe that was only a personal guideline that mod had, not a TL-wide policy? It sends a more powerful message to the bannee with other people coming in and siding against you (although it is fellow nazi mods that always stick together). Now it's easy for the bannee to discount it as the mod getting mad and banning when he can't handle the truth, lulz, etc. | ||

But there are also people aggressive about it and people who are looking to start a BW>SC2 fight at every corner. The "us an them", "our game their game" mentality together with the open declaration of hate for SC2 is quite enough for me to put him into that box. | ||

You probably won't know that he is a sc:bw fan. If he is a sc:bw elitist however, he will take every chance to mention how much better sc:bw is than sc2. There will be doubt that he is a sc:bw fan, as well as an elitist. By that effect, if you look at people in sc2 context, you will see a lot more bw elitists than fan-not-elitist for that reason. So for sc2 fans, it's seem like almost all bw fans are bw elitists. And I assume there is a similar effect the other way around as well, making the bw-scene think that all sc2 fans are assholes that like to shit on sc:bw (which is partially true, but still). I think. I personally was a sc:bw fan, and if I'm allowed to I'd still count myself as a sc:bw fan although I don't follow the scene much any more. But when I watch sc2 I almost never talk about sc:bw. I find that when people in the sc:bw forum talks about sc2, it's a bit more nuanced discussion. Some are angry AF at how blizzard destroyed the bw scene to pave way for sc2 ("saviOr already ruined it...", "no it was Blizzard!!", etc), while others acknowledge that sc2 is a different game and wish them luck, but not the game for them.
