This ain't really the place, but I really doubt this is the reason, because you know, they actually don't care when it comes to.. everything else ?

edit: American Beauty is a clear example.

Sansa strark is basiclly a go pro to observe more interesting characters then her.

The writing is indeed highly ordinary, but that's sort of the point of a series of novels that seeks to focus on a grand, character-driven story arc. The point is that ones' enjoyment of the GoT story and their willingness to read the books ought to be directly correlated.

And those books are dense piles of almost needless description that move at a snails place. And when he runs out of ways to discribe what is going on, he just creates new characters to witness the events he wants people to see. To many observers, not enough actors.
Seriously, the king killer books will be finished before GoT is.

Easily. ASOIAF won't even be done in the same decade as the Kingkiller Chronicles

And the writing is so much better. The books are just so focused and solid across the board. I should reread them this summer.

This can be said of a lot of 20th century literature as well, namely the Russians. Doesn't necessarily make them unentertaining by virtue of qualifying, nor am I comparing RR Martin to high Russian literature in any other sense than his love of adjectives, but it is worth saying. Long story short, never known a fantasy writer to be known for his/her brevity, any Half Price Books is evidence enough of that.

One wonders where this spoiler obsession really comes from. I bet it doesn't look pretty. At its core it is just rather rude, at least for me. I am not as concerned as I was two seasons ago, but if I didn't care I would say go ahead and spoil it. No real ubiquitous rules to abide by other than going, "Wait how far along are you?" and tailoring your answer from there.

are the king killer chronicles better than the malazan series? I just started reading the malazan series to quench my fantasy reading material.

Lets get back on topic, this is not a book discussion thread

maybe if you ban one of us for being off-topic about talking about books, we will show up in this thread again and that will make us on-topic once again to continue book discussion. repeat this over and over and there you go, always on-topic and we get book discussion in ban thread.
I'm a genius.
