I saw him post something big in the midst of all the stuff going on in the thread and kind of just glossed over it. Then I saw someone respond to it like wtf?! and I went back and read it. I agree. It was pretty funny. Even if it was meant as a joke it was pretty over the top.

On a more related note, DLO seemed okay in the LR yesterday, but looking through his posting history for a ban post, he's very abrasive. Didn't seem like an asshole, but that's kind of a rough history.

Well, I think the answer to the first one is definitely that people often act irrationally when they feel emotional about something. The second is probably that you really have to be a jerk for me to not like you.

It's more like people are less self-conscious when they feel emotional about something -- the first case would be "nice" people forgetting about etiquette/political correctness when they are distracted by negative emotions, while the second case would be "bad" people feeling empathetic when experiencing positive emotions with others (such as cheering for the same team).
To a "nice" person. self-consciousness is what causes them to monitor their own behavior to abide by social rules, while to a "bad" person self-consciousness prompts them to consider their own interests/image before the concerns of others

I have never enjoyed any discussion with DarkLordOlli. He has this really agressive style of discussion where is quickly moves from the point of the discussion to insulting the other party. Most of his points open up with some back handed insult, just to get the dig in where he can.
