As for Pucca, I hope this teaches him a lesson as to not get so invested into something in the hopes to get the acceptance of others. Everyone who doesn't keep a low profile receives hate, some loads more than others. The difference is that some people build themselves up in such a way that receiving criticism and disrespect will dismount them. Your distraught reaction implies that you cultivated a false perception of what silent viewers thought of you, and when they showed their true beliefs, you felt extremely invalidated which lead you to giving up. Everything you do should be for the shear love of what your doing, for your own self-amusement, perhaps for the service of others, but not for the purpose of gaining the respect and acceptance of others. I don't know why you consider yourself an "outsider" to the BW community, I never saw you that way. Maybe if you saw yourself as part of the community you wouldn't feel so demoralized now. In response to your post, I think that it is important to remember that the vast majority of the active BW community does not give a shit that BW is a shadow of it's formal self. As long as their is competition, a few tourneys, and a forum where people can express themselves and be creative and funny, the negativity that comes with being preoccupied with viewer counts and the standards of success that "outsiders" who are assimilated with SC2 e-sports zealotry is an absolute waste of mental energy. BW is like a small happy tribe of hunter gatherer's in Africa that need not dwell on many of the things that the SC2 community obsesses over as they grasp for an entrance into the mainstream. That being said Pucca I hope you come back some day. I myself strongly dislike your casting but you bring a more interesting dynamic to the table than we would have without you. | ||
