Please, if you are not staff, don't answer questions in this thread, even if you think you know the answer. Also, please take complains about bans, question about TL as a site, etc to the Website Feedback Forum. |

Of the people that are banned/warned how many are brought to the attention of reports (I have a report button now ) and subsequently banned/warned and how many do the mods get to first? Also of the reports that are submitted how many turn into bans/warnings? Thanks. This is difficult to say, and we don't have any clear statistics over it. I would say the majority of bans and warnings will have been reported by someone as well - which doesn't necessarily mean that the report triggered the mod action though. Just as often a mod finds the offending post without looking at reports. Most reports I work on do not result in mod action. Unfortunately a lot of people report things they simply disagree with, or report every single post of one guy in one thread who they disagree with. That's the kind of thing that makes mod work really frustrating :-(
OK thanks that's good to know.

The recommended maximum width for images on our forums is 730 pixels wide. By posting images larger than this, you can cause long load times and wasted CPU and bandwidth. Please consider resizing your images next time, or use the 'Upload Image' feature in the message composition window as this will automatically host and resize your images to fit the forums. Thanks. Is big brother watching me? How did it know.... >.> Seriously though, as long as it's spoilered I'm good right? Question realated to the same thread, I know the character per post limit is 100k. Does that include spaces? What happens when I hit that limit? Is there a way around it? Because the OP is closing on 70k counting spaces.... Spoilering it doesn't help, spoilered images get loaded along with everything else.
Well crap. I think there is only one or two really huge ones, I'll fix em later.

A question you guys probably get a lot, but i tried searching for "report" and various other related thing; didn't find anything too meaningful so here goes.
I just got my report button (yay!) which makes me pretty happy since it's nice to be able to help the mods and give something back to the site, but i would like to know if there are any specific rules for reporting other than a generic "doesn't follow the TL Commandments/Strategy forum guidelines, caster bashing in lr threads" and whatever else. I don't want to get too trigger-happy with reports and annoy the poor mods even more (by the way, thanks for your awesomeness and patience).
Thanks!

In general just keep it civil and point out the main reason why you're reporting the person. The mods get quite a lot of reports, so so if you indicate the problem quickly they can ban quickly as well.

Just use your own judgement really. If you see blatant flaming, trolling, +1, 1st, insulting someone, image macros, nsfw content or ot posts (last one especially in the strategy forum) it's a no-brainer. There is a fine line between babysitting and moderating, and we try to keep on the moderating side

Hello,
Have you ever considered translating your content into other languages, such as French, German, Spanish and Korean?

Tried translations on LP for a while, but it didn't work out. I doubt we'll see official non-English content any time soon.

Who currently resides at the TL HQ? Also has any of the players visited the HQ?
|
Currently me, Hot_Bid and Heyoka live at TL HQ, Waxangel comes in every day but has his own place. HerO, TLO, Ret, Haypro and Nazgul have all visited, mostly for travel purposes.

Is there a way to tell which mods are currently online and active, in order to quickly receive PM's? I mean besides looking at who made the last ban etc.
Thanks.

Thanks. There was a thread in Website Feedback a while back, but in short many moderators don't want it known that they're online.
