I use http://en.lichess.org/ You have a good variety of players levels, and you can analyse your games using the online bot (though that far from perfect, it can give clues). | ||

Otherwise, most discussion mostly resides in multiple one-off threads that might see activity for a few days before dying off. Consider the recent example of AlphaGo which had a short-lived moderately technical discussion. In this case, I think it might make sense to consolidate things into a mega thread. Personally, the idea for a tech mega thread was prompted when I saw the news about Google moving to sell Boston Dynamics: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-03-17/google-is-said-to-put-boston-dynamics-robotics-unit-up-for-sale This came after the recent showcase of the Atlas robot: + Show Spoiler + I thought the news was interesting, but it really isn't worthy of its own thread, and there's not really a suitable thread to post it in. However, it would fit in nicely if there was a generally technology related news and discussion thread. That's basically my spiel in favour of a tech thread. I wasn't really sure who to talk to about it, so I figured I could PM a mod first to get an ok, instead of making noise here, haha. | ||
