My knowledge of BW is fairly limited but It's such an interesting topic. I would love to delve deep into the culture and uncover interesting contexts. Besides graduate work I also have about a year of archival experience under my belt. If interested, contact me at slytown21@yahoo.com and I'll send you my relevent info.

Especially when we are talking about getting paid here.

Had this been asked for about half a year ago or so, I'd sign up as soon as humanly possible. ... But right now I'm deeply busy with studies and barely have time to even WATCH Brood War games. So, I'm sorry and I shalt flagellate myself in complete and utter shame.

+ Show Spoiler + Torte de Lini Unfortunately, my understanding of BW is very low. Is there a way to contribute without applying? Not sure I understand the connection between the two sentences. You can help without applying officially. Look at the work others have done and fix typos or add stuff they missed. If you'd like some specific task talk to me on IRC and I'll hook you up. Drolla Is there any way to help with Liquipedia without extensive knowledge of coding or something involving Starcraft 2? Trust me when I say coding is a non issue. You know how you can bold something on TL by clicking the B on top of the textbox? Same applies to LP. If you'd like an 8.5 minute demonstration that will tell you everything you need to know watch this: masterbreti What are the time commitments like. like how many hours worth of work can be generally expected per week. Cause it sounds like a lot of fun. But I'm not sure if I have the time or not. That's really up to you. I already received 10 (! <3) PMs and since it's a very clear-cut project (there are only an x amount of MSLs, STX cups etc) with many people working on it I have good hopes we might accomplish a lot of it in very little time. I'll try to assign people to certain projects, but if you'd prefer doing, say, half an hour of work at a time of your convenience (rather than working on a bigger task throughout a couple of days) just drop me a PM and I'll find you something. People Just get X person to help. We'll be getting some help from some special guests ![]() Golden Ghost I don't think I have the time to really apply but if you need somebody to do the menial work and dig through dozens / hundreds of LR pages or something like that to piece together the results of tournaments just sent me a PM. Doing menial work digging through LRs and piecing together results is exactly what I'd like you to do :p Do you have a preference as to what you'd like to work on? slytown I'm not sure where you would like to go with this, but I'm a post-grad in US history and am currently working on a Master's Thesis. If there is actual pay, I would be very interested, as I need the money. I can provide sample papers and references if you'd like. Honoured by your offer but by "Historian" I did not mean it in the professional sense I'm afraid. I simply meant "someone would would like to add past events related to BroodWar to Liquipedia". You're of course welcome to help out or give us some advice, I'd be very interested in the angle you would have to offer, but we can offer no actual pay.

I don't think of history as depressing. Perhaps you see it as implying the death of something? Considering my dissertation is focused on the past, I've come to consider myself a historian of the present. History is worth looking at to the extent that it helps us understand where we are now. One day, someone will ask, how did we get here (SC X)? And there will be the archive of material on Broodwar, still alive and actively informing the present. Great project.

I mean, its more of the issue that the scene is slowly dying/contracting but its still around. :p Also Maester of Starcraft.

I've dug deep into Starcraft: Brood War history before. I remember finding the Liquipedia wanting so I had to dig into quite a few threads. I even once had a bunch of bookmarks to threads chronicling some obscure Brood War facts. Sadly, those bookmarks are now long gone. I've edited a sort of pedia thing before. Updated a bunch of outdated information and redid some old ugly looking formats into the newer cleaner version. I /can/ do it again. But, I'll need to think on if I have the time or energy to commit to that sort of thing again.
