I think you guys are amazing, not just the progamers, also the mods, the community and everything around it. Therefore, I stealthily persuaded my roommates that don't know anything about starcraft or your existence to use your logo on our dining room table, here is the work in progress and the end result !
awesome job! Looks amazing :D what kind of paint have you used and what sort of finishing. I am currently working on a beer-pong table... and need to chose something that will withstand some hardship...
this one is actually pretty hard to answer because I don't really know the translations for our sorts of paint / finish, also we just used some cans of stuff my roommate had left, apparently its not even paint. Im gonna try my best to translate the dutch for you : for the blue colour we used extra-covering high glaze clear blue finish ( we didn't even apply a basecoat because we are university students and we didn't have any ). same story for the silver paint, except that sais side-glaze instead of high glaze. I think you shouldn't listen to me for any paint advice though.
It sounds like it is in fact paint. The typical English translation is "high-gloss" (very shiny) and I'm guessing "side-glaze" is "semi-gloss" (somewhat shiny). Looks great!
Basically my roommate was in a strange mood and he came up to me and said : Let's paint the table today ! (it had been in the wooden unfinished state for about 2 years now..) and I said fine, but we'll have to make something cool. then I suggested putting a logo on there and we couldn't really come up with something so I thought of this logo and said hey let's use this ! (showed him picture) and he thought it looked cool and halfway through the painting he was like, so what's the logo from. That's when I told him it's from a starcraft progaming team/community. he didn't mind at all though .

paint
Think hes talking about the stencil they used, just need to print out a large copy on several pieces of paper tape it together then cut it out and then tape it to the table. I don't see a primer though and that table top is likely plastic as most tables now are wood center with plastic wood like paneling i'd be worry about pealing if they didn't use a proper paint. Still cool though.
Just don't ever mention anywhere on the internet where you live. I almost guarantee that your house will be the target of many jealous nerds... Myself included. That is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time! Nice job man.

But did you just paint over the finish? If you did not at least put on a single coat of primer first, you may end up with some of the stained wood texture bleeding through the paint job...
That is so cool. I also feel a little slow I was like damn he is messy just throwing his newspaper all over the floor to take a picture.... But that is for the paint right? >.< I am slow

well basically the imgur link already is sort of a picture guide if you look at picture 3, then 2, then 4,5,6, you can see exactly how it's done :D
we didn't even have any rollers or sprays or anything we made the whole thing by handbrushing (getting the correct thickness across the board was kind of a pain, as you can see between the horses manes the silver is a bit lighter there.)
to be honest there are probably a lot of people that could do this better than me since it was my first painting project ever and we did it in like 4 hours or something . Also the paint we used was just some random paint my roommate apparently had left from something he did so we probably didn't have the best paint either hehe.
also in the picture it looks really really good, but if you zoom in on it you can see we didn't do a perfect job at the edges of the blue either it was just a fun afternoon project hehe.
if you wonder what we did between any of the pictures just ask.
sadly, no chicks have been in the room since today, hoping for an improvement in that department tomorrow. also, not that near to malaysia, sorry chongu
off for the night now, if anyone has anymore questions feel free to leave em here and I'll answer em in the morning

I thought TL was a cult? Have I been misinformed? o_O
hmm, not sleeping yet for the curves in the tape I just got like 10 smaller pieces of tape and adjusted them bit by bit. the thing I said earlier about in between the pictures I mean is if you don't understand what happened between any of em you can ask . and turdburgler, I totally should ! really going to sleep now.. I hope ... I think ... I guess ...
Nazgul should be making a post soon for the signing of Liquid'Table :D. Sweet table dude just gotta make sure you don't spill anything on the esports horse ^_^
Well there goes the resale value of that table. I guess that only matters if you plan on selling it though Personally, I think it'd look way better with just a stain and clear finish, not to mention it'd be worth a few hundred dollars that way. But hey, you're in college and you're not supposed to make good decisions when it comes to these things. TL fighting~!

Eh, it's hard to resell a table like that imo, silly concern to have. I see tables like that chill at yard sales for under $20 all the time (and got one myself for free because someone just needed to get rid of it when moving out of an apartment.)

you know that this means you got a genuine artifact of immense value right there? that and your friend is now a legendary painter.
So awesome, thanks for sharing. It is such an awesome logo I could see people who don't know anything about Starcraft or TL still liking it, again awesome job mate.
glad u took pics of the work in progress. I agree with Glider (who does the portrait videos) that a lot of the art is in the making of it, not just the end result. Kinda like how people say the fun is in the journey not the destination. very nice job sir.
