Barcraft Boston IPL 3: Origins was a great success, despite minor hiccups with IPL's schedule, 240 people showed up making us the largest barcraft I have heard of. This time will be even bigger, we will have more waitresses, more bartenders, more giveaways, and even more chairs. So come early and stay late and we will keep making Barcraft Boston great.
Remember to get there early if you want a seat, or even want to be able to get in as we filled very quickly last time.
Wow. Thats pretty freaking cool! I've been there during celtics games and stuff, but this is sweet. Props to whoever set this up, I'm impressed it's at a well known bar as well.
Oh geez... I might try to convince my girlfriend to go there with me, is there parking or would it be too expensive? I have anxiety about taking trains ~.~

Parking near there isn't expensive, you just may end up walking a while and feeding a meter.
I hope so, more or less every barcraft that hosted a MLG Anaheim watch end up repeating for Raleigh.
According to info that givegodawedgie gave me, event opens at 4, which should be roughly when the MLG loser's finals start. Not sure why it lasts till midnight though. MLG should end before 9pm.
Everyone should be aware that Countryfest, a huge country music festival held at Gillette Stadium, is being held on the same day. I believe the Countryfest event starts at 6PM, with most people tailgating at ~3, and the event ending around 1-2 A.M. This could cause some trouble for those who are traveling along 495/I-95. Just figured I'd give you all a heads-up.

I think they're hoping that people will stay afterwards to drink (depends heavily on who wins, heh). I don't think anyone will stay till 2 A.M. though, considering the day after is a Monday.

I'm a conductor... trust me, the trains are super safe.
Raleigh is on east coast, so the finals... should wrap up before 2 right? I'd be taking the train and can't end up stranded at north station for a night...
Man, I hope I get to go to school in Boston next year =) I'm a high school senior now, so when I get accepted to college, I may be heading up to Boston!
If I do get accepted, you can count me in (next year) !!
Going to be there. This place is super accessible (North Station on the Orange Line). Seriously, if you're in Boston and over 18, you can't call yourself a starcraft fan if you're not there.

I was under the impression that they had the capability to have all TVs display the same thing, but that might not be the case. Don't look at me, I'm not the one organizing this.

Yes but I hope the stream will be at least 720p and not freeze up a lot.

I'm an alum. I'll try to make it if I can, looks pretty cool.
I'm currently a student at Suffolk as well. Not sure if I can make it to the event though. I wish you guys would post your name up in the TL college thread so I don't feel like the only guy who goes to Suffolk here =(
is it possible to lower the minimum age and slap on a drink minimum?
I see quite a few comments of people who would love to attend but are too young (including myself). Bof age to drink is clearly not the problem, so what is it?
fuck that looks pretty sweet. Wish there was something like that in england near me. Can yoiu imagine laddering on the big screen with everyone watching sounds awesome

Fake ID? Borrow your brothers ID? lol What a weird question.
NOOOOOOO, I want to go so bad :/ I'd love to meet tempo and watch with some other nerds... Can't make it this weekend Make sure you guys do this next time too! And someone make a thread about Providence when the time comes Would love to go with some other Boston TL members.
I think it's pretty amazing that club where there are some playboy parties (According to gallery) will host a barcraft...i'm so jelly...i wonder if photos will be posted in the gallery ^_^

=( Sorry guys. Stay safe!
Sad, but probably wouldn't have been able to show anyway.
Words cannot express my sadness that this event was canceled. The only way this stupid "hurricane" otherwise would've kept me from getting to this event would be if it had killed me.
My power was down all day and my phone was dead, so I just said screw it and drove in. Standing outside the locked door now. Now that my phone is chatged...
Awww well, here's to next time. And a 45 minute drive home of shame.,
After many delays and "inconveniences" Barcraft Boston is finally going to be happening. PLEASE NOTE: this is a test run, if it does not go well we will not be doing anymore, which means I leave it entirely up to all of you to show up and make this happen I started out trying to make this happen because of my faith in this community now its your turn to show me my faith was justified.
We will be watching Sunday night fights followed by other good games from GSL GSTL or any other source I can find, even possibly past series (maybe great ones like naniwa v thorzain)
It is still 18+ and if this one goes well we will be going bi weekly at this same time. For this test run we will only be using the third floor which has a 100 person capacity. If we prove we can bring in more than that on a regular basis we will adopt the 4th floor as well, increasing capacity to 250 people.
If you have any suggestions of matches we should watch, if you have a laptop with a vga connection, a mobile hotspot, or anything else you feel might be useful please bring them we can always use the backups just in case.
NOTE: Even if you are not a fan of Starcraft, if you like video games in general give it a shot, we all started somewhere and I can promise you this will win you over. Worst case scenario you get to have a few drinks with some other nerds.
Ugh. I can't get that day off on such short notice. I'll have to get up at 2:30, go to this, then go to work until 8am....though, that's only ~18 hours awake, so it's hardly brutal. I just need to rejigger my sleep schedule slightly.
scott trano - Boston: Schedule: IdrA vs Huk (Best of 3) - NA Bnet Invitational 2011 Round 3 / cast by: Day[9] & JP
TriMaster vs REVnoxn (Best of 3) - GeForce SC2 Tournament Amateur Division / cast by: Day[9] & Husky
SlayerS_BoxeR vs CrunCher (Best of 5) - GeForce SC2 Tournament Losers Round / cast by: Day[9] & Husky
TLO vs Destiny (Best of 5) - ShoutCraft Invitational Round of 8 / cast by: TotalBiscuit & Apollo
At 830 we will be doing a "raffle" and the winner will ladder for a half hour while everyone else watches, please note this is an experiment and could go horrifically wrong so be patient.
That was totally worth getting up early for. Luckily, I had not watched Dreamhack (though, not knowing we'd be watching it, I spoiled myself the night before ;_;), so it was pretty exciting, especially since most of the crowd hadn't seen it either.
I'm surprised how many Rain fans there apparently are.
I had a great time! Thanks for all the work you put into this, Scott. Huge crowd, tons of big screen tvs, and a beer or two (...or three :D) made for an awesome event. Definitely recommend everyone check out MLG Orlando. See everyone then!
