 Violet a player for KT Rolster, was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
In the past, TL has organized fan cards for progamers, and i think something similar would be appropriate here. Is there anyone in Korea who would be willing to help put this together, and get it to him or his family. I'd be more than willing to assist, but I'm in no position to run the project by myself, let alone get the card to him.
Likewise, it might be worth looking into whether or not he and his family need help affording the treatments. Again, I'd be willing to help here, but can't do it on my own.

"Get well" cards should probably be reserved only for things you will definitely recover from... like a broken foot or something.
I dunno, if I got cancer and someone got me a get well card I'd be like.. "Yeah, I'll get right on that, thanks."
I could be wrong.. am I wrong?

I think it's more of a "We hope you get well soon" kinda card, which wouldn't be that bad I guess, would probably put a smile to his face seeing that the foreign fans love him aswell.
I like the idea, but yeah, would need someone that can bring him the card, hehe.

How about a "Thinking of you card" Or maybe in Korean they actually have something appropriate.
Cancer is such a fucking roll of the dice, "get well" just seems ignorant.

As far as cancer goes, this is about as survivable of one as you can get. Still though, if people think "get well" sounds weird, changing it isn't a problem. The intent is the most important thing here, and i think anyone in his position would really appreciate any support they could get.

Yeah fair enough, it's a good idea to send something. Ultimately you should get someone from Korea to decide what an appropriate title is, my point was in English it would be awkward to write get well.

In the past, people would post short comments in a thread, which would be translated into Korean by someone who speaks it, put together in a card, and brought to the player.

"Get well" might be the wrong way to say it but cancer patients need all the support they can get.

On a serious note, this is a good idea, but obviously not 'Get well' card. Maybe every Violet fan should make a cheerful and we vote for couple best ones to send him as a sort of small album?

So basically if you have cancer, you're going to be offended if a community wants you to get better and sends you a card? I'm pretty sure if you have cancer, you won't be thinking about how bs the card is and thinking about how people do care about you.

Cancer is not a death sentence. There is a chance for every cancer type to be cured, and there ARE "miracles" (spontaneous remissions, although really, really rare). Never treat a cancer patient like he is on death row or something, there really is always hope. While I wouldn't say give false hope to terminally ill patients with something like metastasized small cell lung cancer, it is not cynical or anything to support cancer patients. On the opposite, they need it.
So basically, I think this is a great idea! Get well Violet!

The survival rate of ALL in children in 80% and about 50% in adults. But better chemo drugs nowadays means rate can be up to 75%.
Good chance he'll recover.

I had testicular cancer a few years ago. Surgery did the trick. I would have loved to recieve a get well card.
