I like the fact that you admit that your policies on favoring more senior members of the community may seem unfair and you tell people to just deal with it. I like your policies, but I'm not going to show respect for someone just because they've been around a long time. I try to show some respect towards everyone, but with me, you gain respect by your words and actions, not by the number of posts you have or how long you've been with the site.

So, I like your policies, but I'm not going to be deferring to anyone unless they earn my respect.

I think you've got this a bit backwards. They're not better posters because they've been here a while, they've been here a while because they're better posters. The bad ones tend not to last long. Obviously if a veteran gets out of line then we'll deal with them (and there have been a number of high profile bans) but the majority of them know how things work sufficiently to keep within the rules. Contributing members get given leniency based on their contributions, not post count, which would qualify under your 'gain respect by actions' bit. Hopefully that clears things up.
