http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=95338¤tpage=209 It got derailed into a religious debate, but the thread shouldn't be closed and no reason was given. So I'm assuming it's being discussed or a disclaimer like the SFW funny pic thread is going to be added? Edit: Reason given, looks like it will be closed permanently though I don't think it should. A lot of great stories were posted in that thread and the topic doesn't naturally lead to a religious debate. Could the thread be remade with clear rules?

It is a fine idea. But if it devolves into another religious debate it will probably be closed again.

It's for reporting malicious behavior that requires quick mod reaction primarily. Don't report threads that are OBVIOUSLY against the rules either. Mods find those just as fast as anyone. Reporting them only adds administrative work on top of closing the thread. Report only posts you assume mods won't find by themselves, like when they are buried in a several page discussion.

And moderation is never faster that way either. If it says "Jinro sucks Korean Cock" in the sidebar I will always close that before I have a look at any reports. okay, so mostly it's much better if we actually report stuff that seems to have been buried inside a thread. High high captain ![]() Still if ever we find some stuff that seems to be pretty terrible and it's on the front page, while no mod has done anything with it yet I'm still going for the report pistol

I just saw that the "What are you listening to atm?"-thread had been closed due to it being, basically, a +1 post machine with people randomly posting videos and not discussing. Why then are other threads of that kind still open? - The "awesome SC2 BM" thread where all we see are screenshots of people insulting. That's not awesome, and it's the same on every page. - The "Dark Side" thread. Do some people need that kind of stuff? On one of the last pages there's a guy defending how he drowned puppies and compared it to war experiences ... wtf? It's a collection of +1s as well, in fact, very weird +1s. - same for the "One Line Confessions", which was only closed because it was derailed. How does that add to the community? People are just posting random stuff, every couple of pages a mini-discussion evolves and is instantly drowned in the flood of posts; just like in the "What are you listening to"-thread.

Though if it is remade can't someone just knowingly do some religious flame bait to close the thread? I'm not saying shaunnn's confession was meant as that but knowing the zero religious debate policy on TL couldn't you just find any mention of religion and start a flame war or post something critical of religion to hope someone will start one? I just think the bad posters should be punished but not the thread itself. There have been some scientific or religious topics that seem to naturally drift to a religious debate and were closed which I agree probably needed to be but a general topic thread like the one line confessions could be about anything.
