I'm currently a student at a graduate of CSUS and I'm looking for other Hornets to play SC2 with! I know you fellow SC2 playing students are out there because I've seen you playing on campus! If there's enough interest maybe we could organize small tournaments, setup practice partners or something like that. The more the merrier, so please don't be shy!

We do have a SC2 club at Sac State. Only started couple days ago I think. The Prez says he got some 20+ people on the roster. So if you're a student at Sac State, you can sign up for the club with your mySacState account. Just look it up at OrgSync.com. That's where all the school's clubs are listed.

My name is Victor Lim and I am the President of the SC2 on campus. I am glad the word is getting out there. This is my fourth day promoting and we now have about 30 members register and a expected: 50 members by the end of this week. Thanks Coldzer for telling the others. I am a big Starcraft 2 player and I hope this club will continue to grow. We will have SC2 LANs in the union and hold fun events. Victor has created a Facebook page for the StarCraft 2 club. Simply search for "CSUS StarCraft" in Facebook and you should be able to find it. He also said that there will be a booth in the quad area (where all the other booths were during the first weeks of school) on Monday October 4 starting at 1PM I believe. Not exactly sure of the times, but if you're on campus that day, definitely check it out!

Awesome, i used to live there, but just recently moved to sacramento. there used to be a lan center in davis called blood strike wayyyy back in the day. it was legit but it closed down quite a while ago

Our next meeting will be held in a couple weeks (TBA). My treasurer just finish up our last require workshop. I am in the process of finishing up our paper work this weekend. Our club is allow to have 80% CSUS students and 20% non CSUS students for those who are interested from other schools. This club now has about 40 members registered on orgsync.com from the recent sign ups. For the non students that just want to play, I will take that up with the school Monday and get back to you.

you guys should try and do a last minute signup for the CSL and email the admin. if you have a couple committed players, and seeing as how there are so many interested people in SC2 at CSUS they might add you to this seasons roster even though the team registration just closed... there are a ton of universities competing this year!

BarryJive, college matches would be fun. If you can organize something over at CSUF, we can probably set up a school match. It'd be pretty much the same as the Collegiate StarLeague (CSL). The CSL started as a way for schools to compete in Brood War and has switched to StarCraft 2 for its latest season. The CSL website is http://www.cstarleague.com/

Victor has contacted the administration over at CSL and they're allowing CSUS to form a team despite missing the deadline of September 25. They're allowing 30 hours for CSUS to come up with I believe at least 6 members for a StarCraft 2 team.
If you're a student at CSUS would like to participate in the school's CSL team, contact Victor or post here as soon as possible. The information needed is your B.Net username.identifier and a valid CSUS email address (ending in csus.edu).

If so i would be interested in scrimming against some of you. I am a 1500+ diamond league player.
A bit more about myself, I'm from sacramento, I'm 23 years old. Went to Franklin High in elk grove, then went to college for 3 years majoring in computer science, networking engineering and focused on cisco systems administration. I am married with a 4 year old daughter. I work for the state of california, state controllers office as a network engineer (go figure network guy playing SC2)

Me and my brother are both about an hour and a half North of Sac. And what really sucks is that I didn't know about the Intel Lanfest until about 3 minutes ago! Damn I would have loved to go. I haven't been to a big LAN sense 2007. =(

It was a blast. Had a chance to meet a lot of people and play against some awesome players!
The only thing that sucked is that the b.net connection got crappy after midnight both nights. Lots of dropped games around 1am.

Hey all. IntelLan Fest is coming to sacramento again for a local StarCraft 2 tournament. However, whoever hosts intel's LANS decided that it would be more fun to do a 2v2 tournament this year!!! WTF!!!!!!!!
I need everyone to go to the following forums http://lanfest.intel.com/?page=forum&id=367 and go to my starcraft 2 (2v2?) thread and create an account. VOTE FOR the tournament to be a 1v1. Who the HELL plays team games in a tournament. The game is barely balanced enough for 1v1's let alone teams.

I don't go to CSUS, but somewhat attend Sierra College in Rocklin. I've been looking for SC2 community in the Sacramento area for awhile when I stumbled on this thread.
Looking for local tournaments/events...I know this thread is CSUS specific, but it's the only nor-cal thing I could find.

Everyone will have to bring their laptops or riggs to play if you plan on planning. If not, you will have to wait your turn because I only have two laptops I can provide myself until we get more funding from the school. Lets have a fun time making SCVs, Drones, and Probes. Hope to see everyone out here! We will also discuss ways to fund raise and how to improve our club as in promoting it. This is also in honor of us making the 100+ mark on our orgsync members for the Starcraft II Club. So everyone give yourself a pat on your back and a good well done. It's open for all Washrow, but the meetings are held on the CSUS campus and you'll need to pay for parking if you park on campus.

I talked to the school about parking. There is a free parking thing request. I will try to get those going when we have meetings at a designated area so people who don't attend our school can come to the meetings.

Intel lanfest is generally the only lan out here that i know of lol. It happens every season or every other season. If we can get a lot of Team Liquiders involved we can get this tournement next time turned into a 1v1 instead of a 2v2. Also never knew about this thread lol. Starcraft2North - League Qualifiers #1
Welcome to Canada’s newest and biggest Starcraft 2 league. Do you have what it takes to take on Canada’s top Grandmasters and Masters? We are organizing a Canadian based 32 player online league open to everyone in NA to join. Toronto’s Grandmasters confirmed for the league, including those who qualified at our LAN tournament are: ostojiy, colryze combatex, sixjaxdde, fnaticmsiJF. Toronto’s Masters who were given automatic entry into our league via our LAN tournament are: stoicfuzzy, colantimage revorchid , nox , and myriad. Format for the actual league will be a 32 player double-elimination knockout tournament. Prizes for the main event will be decided once the qualification rounds are completed. Depending on how many players register for the free qualifiers will determine how many qualifying rounds we will have. We may also implement separate “A” and “B” level leagues depending on the number of players registering for the event.

UC Davis held their first ever BarCraft yesterday, Sunday February 26, 2012 and it was incredibly fun. It being my first BarCraft, I didn't know what to expect, but it was more fun than expected. The event was organized very well by UC Davis and I'll most definitely be attending their future events!

Hey guys. My name is Jay, and I run gaming tournaments in Sacramento on Arden Way. Right now I organize fighting game tournaments, but I am trying to branch out to multiple genres. I recently added Super Smash Bros Brawl and Melee and Madden. I have a 17,000 square foot venue where I can run LAN and console tournaments. It is a big open area with high ceilings, so it doesn't feel hot and muggy or get smelly if some players forget to take a shower. I also have bandwidth of about 25up/25down to run multiple streams.
