Hey guys. I'm kind of new around here but I've played SC1 since the day it was released and BW since the day it was released. I was never a competitive player but loved the pro scene.
I've dedicated more time to SC2 becoming a competitive player (~1100 diamond right now) and was just wondering if there was any interest in central Ohio (Columbus area, specifically I'm in Dublin) to just get together, talk about Starcraft2, watch LiveStreams and Replays (my gaming computer is hooked up to a 42" TV making replay watching/analysis easy for a group) and generally just bullshit about SC2. I was thinking about making a meetup.com about it but I wanted to see if there was any interest on TL. Let me know either via PM or this thread. Thanks for reading Ohioans

OSU has a CSL team that is active and plays a lot. If anyone is going to seriously organize a LAN in the Columbus area I know a lot of the CSL players would come out to play and hang out.

I go to OSU and I didn't know we had a CSL team. Wow... I know of a few people in the CSE/ECE program that play SC2, but don't care about Pro or even ladder. They're >Casual players.

How about a Public LAN i mean, im in high school cm'on :-) or wait two years till I hit college.

Organize a $ tournament and you won't just get people from Ohio... All you need is a room somewhere.

A little late to come back to this thread, but I just remembered it.
Maybe it would be possible to get somewhere on OSU's campus. It's not like anyone actually uses any of the 100s of buildings after 5pm anyhow.

I'm in dayton and I would love to find another decent lan in Ohio. I started in q3 and used to go to all the whempy (columbus) and SOGA (hamilton) lans. It seems like once i graduated from high school, the Ohio scene kind of died.

I think we need to try to get a LAN tournament going in Columbus and get some people to show up and get some sponsors so we can get a prize pool going as well :O

I live in Dublin and would love to help organize/join a LAN event in Ohio. If it has anything to do with SC2, count me in.
I also work across the street from the Convention Center where MLG Columbus will be held (Talk about a tease everyday.) If anyone needs help with accommodations, or information about the area, I would be more than happy to help where I can. Hopefully there is a good turn out!!

I live downtown Columbus just off OSU main campus and I would love if we could get together either a LAN event or just a hangout. Maybe play a few games and just shoot the shit about SC2.

Another Columbus resident checking in. Planning to go to at least 1 day of the MLG in June to meet the pros.
Anyone else listen to 97.1 The Fan? It's sports-talk radio, and the afternoon has a show with a couple of younger guys (Common Man & Torg) that have talked about video games once or twice. I'm thinking of contacting them to see if they would talk about MLG, even if it was just for 5 minutes one day once we get closer to June. I'm preparing to get laughed off the phone, but it would be neat if they just acknowledged that video games can be taken seriously like sports.

Im from elyria about 30 minutes south of cleveland I would be interested although I havent been able to play in about 2 months. After this semester I will be back at it hoping to get into diamond.

I'm from the CSL/CES team up at Case Western in Cleveland, we have plenty of dedicated sc2 folks up here...if we can put some kind of Ohio tournament together, that would be pretty sweet.

I live in the Columbus area as well. I would love to see some type of LAN form up in the area before MLG. Obviously I would love to see a bulk of the group head to MLG as well.
I'll keep my eyes on this thread in the upcoming weeks to see if anything develops. I might even have access to a good location to even host something on a weekend. Will be out in the Hilliard area but thats basically the west side of Columbus. I'm just finishing up my last week of class and I hopefully have my degree! A LAN would be a nice break from all of this silly paperwork!

I am a 3rd year student at OSU living off campus (patterson ave).
I am "technically" on the CSL roster for OSU but I haven't ever played in one of the tournament games. I would definitely be up for playing in a local LAN though if anyone was organizing something

Maybe you could provide us an e-mail or phone number to contact them at? The more people that contact them, I'd imagine the more of a chance they would announce this. Great idea though. Local SC2 radio? Yes please!

Flying into columbus on the Friday night and have Friday night/Saturday before I start work in the US.
Booked a hotel for the Friday night, definitely gonna check out MLG for as much as I can and would like to hang with some TL folk and some locals to show me the ropes.
