Hey guys!
I am back in the States again for a few weeks and figured that a TL meetup would be nice since I missed the NYC Lan.
When: Wednesday, Sept 1st at 8pm.
Where: Dave and Busters in Times Square. (234 West 42nd St. Tel: 646-495-2015)
Who: Anyone and everyone in the NJ/NY area!
We picked this venue so that you underage babies can join in the festivities while us old fogies can drink away our sorrows.
However, if you are under 21, you need to be present with a "guardian" (someone 25 years of age or older.) There can be 5 minors for every guardian.(They will check at the door so if you are under 21, you will need to find a 25 or older person to bring you in. Please don't ask me to do it.)
It'll be a nice meet and greet and hang out time. 
Prices are a bit on the steep side, but you don't technically have to eat/drink anything so even if you're poor or just cheap, come anyways and say hi!
Hotbid and I will have our Team Liquid shirts on for maximum nerdage. I expect the same from the rest of you :D
Please post in the thread if you're planning to come so that if you ARE under 21, someone can take you under their wing.
IF SOMEONE IS BEING NICE ENOUGH TO CLAIM YOU AS THEIR "UNDER 21" PLEASE DON'T BE AN ASS AND DRINK ILLEGALLY.

OMG, this seems like an awesome event! I might be up for this.... except it's a Wednesday night (hence school night) and according to my newly formed fall semester schedule where my self identity is destroyed 7 days a week, on Wednesday night, I have a weekly meeting for my important group that's from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.... maybe if I can somehow get an excuse for it, I could come but tentative for me....
Nice of you to do this though! Sounds fun! ^_^

Yarr it's a wednesday because
1) Half price games on wednesday!
2) Too busy / too many people on weekends hence, we can't really mingle among ourselves.
3) Don't want to get too drunk and have to clean up after people and by making it a weekday I can most likely prevent that.
4) They only open until 1am anyways.
5) I can't make any weekends

True... But what are people who are 1. not good at pool 2. not drinking going to want to do?
D&B... Food and alcohol is pretty steep from what I recall. Pretty much the amount you'd expect to pay at a restaurant for a meal + brews (like ~30 dollars with tip?). Where the majority of your spending will come is from the games and etc., unless you're like me and you will be drinking all day. IIRC there are billiards tables there though so I will be more than down to play with you. I'm rusty but I still got some skill (:
Also, to everyone who is worried about prices... There will be a TL meet-up only a few days prior to that... Not everything has to follow student budgets. Don't be selfish, not everyone is a broke-ass college student or a student at all for that matter!

D&B - nothing is required to be ate or drank though with no cover. I just wanted a place where things aren't too awkward for people - tons of "ice breaker" things to do.

Just got home. I had a good time. I could talk all day with you guys about games and other shit. It was really cool to find out that lilsusie played on the same wow server as me and even recognized my old guild.
Unfortunately I'm probably the oldest one there and need my old man sleep to get up for work tomorrow or Id still be busting games up there.
I had a pass with alot of games left on it, I should have given it to you guys before I left. I was a little saucy and wasn't thinking. I regret not doing so. If any of you guys are going to head back there, let me know so I can meet up and burn this card I bought.

LOL, Grand Central was closed 'till 5:15, I spend 1hr+ on the streets just waiting. My train leaves at 6, I should be home around 8... sux to be me I guess xD But hey, I had a blast! Possibly best day of this summer. Especially after-party. Kudos to everyone who stayed untill very last minute and huuuuge thanks to Susie for organizing it. Love you guys, can't wait for another one. Phy out... literally.

Aaww man, this meet up was even more awesome than I imagined. Lilsusie is so much more awesome in real-life. I met tons of cool people. You guys that didn't come missed and amazing time. Thank god I don't have work today. (good call on that water ^_^ )

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know what a great time I had that night. It was a pleasure getting to meet all of you. For anyone who's wondering, I'm the guy in Phyrexi's pictures wearing the white plaid shirt while helping Meatnose blast the heads off Terminators. There were so many great moments, including helping lilsusie farm tickets to buy a TL mascot plushie + shotglasses for everyone with my abysmal trivia skills, trying to get shitfaced while playing Jersey-versions of card games, listening to stories on Korean progaming culture and the various personalities, walking through times square with Dandy4 while dodging angry drunks at 4am, that I feel bad for anyone that missed it.
Special thanks to Phyrexi and Susie's friend Rich who shelled out for pitchers and helped clean up the electric puke, and to everyone for being so friendly and hospitable to someone new to the TL community. I really appreciate it. To anyone I didn't get to talk to, hopefully we'll see each other at future events and lans. I will definitely be attending Comicon next month for the IEM finals, and I'll try to show up to the next Flushing lan if I can find out when the next one is.
For anyone who doesn't mind playing a barely-bronze level player, feel free to add my SC2 name and character code, both of which are in my profile. I'm looking to learn a thing or two in some scrim matches, since you can only learn so much from just watching the pros play and replays.

I still have my D&B card as well. I don't go there that often, but the next time you want to go we can farm tickets and pool enough of them together to buy a back-scratcher or some candy bracelets.

Thanks for the thread link Phyrexi. Barring any last minute obligations, I'll definitely show up to it, though probably not as a tourney player. Also I lol'd at the Arcadius unit power. That moment will always be remembered as the time you "cleaned up the creep".

But seriously, I'm pretty terrible at group photos. From my POV it looked like the lens could capture me. Next time I should probably stand closer to the front I guess.
And yeah, I generally hate having deal with website registration, but for TL I made an exception. You'll probably see a lot more of me on the IRC than the actual boards though.
