We had another successful small LAN a few weeks back. It was a lot of fun, and having a small and cozy atmosphere was pretty nice too. At our peak we had about ten people, but twelve people showed in total. We definitely can get a lot more if we want, or we can keep it small like this (it was pretty nice). Anyways, let's do it again, and have an SC2 release LAN! This will be at the end of summer / beginning of fall, so a lot of the people that were away for the last LAN will be able to come to this one as well. It's actually the one year anniversary of the first BATLL (we had it August 22 last year). This next LAN will likely be the same as normal, but post your opinion on if you want a better date or if you want to make this LAN kept small or become big!
Hope everyone can make it!
Update - there will now likely be a SC2 tournament with prizes! Keep watching to see what'll be up for grabs!
woot i got second place ???? i feel so accomplished. i think i should quit now while i still have an edge on most people.. hehehe. yah ill try to make it man, its a weird time with school starting soon and, (hopefully) ultimate Frisbee nationals are the weekend before that, but il definitional try to make it.
Haha ya, if you have any other dates that'd be better for you make sure to post them! Also, by SC2 LAN we don't really mean LAN, it'll still be over bnet but be considered a LAN party still Unless... hopefully Blizzard changes their no-LAN thing!
AW DANG IT I live like 1 hour and 30 minutes away And school starts like that week for me so unfair We should have one a little more north closer for me!
Hmm, KnightFix, there's a few people from up in the north bay who come quite often, they're in Petaluma about or something. You may be able to get a ride from some people up there And also, if you guys all think it's not a great date we can still change it so keep watching the thread!
I live about five minutes away and I have a friend that plays as well. Would be very interested in this. The day doesn't really matter if it is a weekend.
Ya whether there are prizes or not depends on whether we want to have a big tourney or a small LAN. Most people who've posted so far seem to want a bigger LAN.
Yes! Of course you can come! We are a very fun, relaxed environment and you will have tons of fun. By the way, there is no "chipping in" here, you just pay for what you want. For example, if it's your first time at eudemonia, you can get a referral from one of us and get two hours free (I think it's two) and then you can take a break for an hour or two as we get dinner and then get the nighttime pass, which is less than the $16 price I listed in the op. Or you can get the whole-day pass and have 2 saved hours for the next time you come. If you don't want dinner, you don't have to pay - you just pay for whatever you buy at the restaurant we decide to go to.
It's a ton of fun and everyone is welcome! I'll put you on the tentative list, tell me if you are confirmed :D
I actually may be able to make it seeing as I'll be back from my internship. If I confirm this a little later on I'll repost. Also, I would be driving from San Francisco so if some people needed rides PM me when I do confirm this. I can take 3 besides me. Hopefully I can make it.
i'll put it on my calander and try to make it and possibly bring my brother and maybe even more... would be interested in a tourney also do they have computers there or is it a BYOC LAN?
they have computers there. again, if anyone thats within 15 minutes detour from the path between Alameda and Berkeley, i can give you a ride, let me know.
Sorry G5, but there's probably going to be no BW after this T_T You should have come to our previous ones! We had Yosh come a lot and had somewhat of a prize pool, lol not really, but I probably would have tried to get a sponsor or something... too bad you worked weekends
i'm interested in attending this lan. is there going to be a sc2 tourney with some kind of prize? i never been to eudemonia, but put me on the tentative list =)

yes there will most likely be a sc2 tourney with a small prize :D this lan's mainly for fun though
Haha nice I'm getting a digital copy right now because I'm in DC and no car so it's too inconvenient for me to get a physical copy... I will get a physical copy eventually though but I'm downloading already atm and I'm pretty excited :D

Make sure to join the Facebook event and invite all your friends who might be interested! Btw, I will announce a prize pool during this week, it'll be my own money but it will still be tentative since we might still get some small sponsors to sponsor some gaming equipment or something.
I actually did email them in regards to a discount last time, and I told them there'd be like 15-20 people, but then only like 9-10 people came so I'm hoping they don't see the last one and judge it from that -_-;;
Also, here are the headphones+mics we use: http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/computer/multi-use-computer-headsets/audio-355 Actually, most of the store has one that looks a little different. Anyway, you are welcome to bring your own headset if you prefer. I just wanna warn you that if you do bring your own, most of the computers have a port in the back and a port in the front, and sometimes they're finicky about which port you plug them in to (you have to make sure you choose the right one in Windows Volume Control, and then choose the right one in Ventrilo settings again... it's kind of a pain).
Sorry that you don't like 'em JiYan -- though we'd appreciate any feedback about why, haha. Also, it's ok to bring your own mice/keyboards if you want, as long as you promise to plug our stuff back in when you're done. If you have any more questions about the venue, just PM me or email me at judytuna@eudemonia.net anytime.
Anyway.... I'm an HDStarcraft fan so I'm super-excited. hahahaa. Have fun & see you there!
Im going to be in the San Francisco around that time and I would absolutely love to go if someone can give me a ride there? :D I'll even pay for gas ^_^
Cut[e]Paper you should try to contact PEKINGDUCKK, he said he'd be willing to give rides from SFO! And ya Ritt try to get a ride, any word on Chris? This is what normanbum wrote earlier btw, you should pm him.

I'm driving down from Sonoma County, if someone wants a ride and wants to help out with the gas money than let me know.
Haha wow another person from Alamo, I'm like 2 minutes walking distance from Alamo Plaza. We should meetup sometime haha. Are you a student?
On August 16 2010 08:41 PEKlNGDUCKK wrote: So when does the actual tournamet start? i know not everyone's going to be there at 1:30. And how do we even sign up for the bracket?
The tournament will start at 2:00, no need to sign up just show up and you'll be put in the bracket. We're going to do group stages, if we get about 24 people then 6 groups of 4 into bracket stages (2 advance, 12 person bracket).
so $16 lets us play for the whole day. does that mean we can be there earlier than 1:30pm and get the most of our money?
this is an important question because i'm actually in another tourney at 12 and was wondering how early can i play at the lan because if i can play there earlier i can just do my tourney matches there.

It's today guys! Make sure to show! Remember it's $16 for an all-day pass, but make sure if it's your first time to get a referral from someone so you get an additional 2 free hours you can use today (if you don't get an all-day pass) or the next time you come to a LAN :D
guys i was confused on this was this yesterday on saturday? or sunday kuz the 21st was saturday... anyways sad i missed it i'm looking forward to the next one
Tons of fun everyone! It was yesterday OG, Saturday the 21st, maybe the TL Korean time threw you off? Well hopefully you can make the next one!
Daaaamniiiitt!!!! I missed the group picture because I was still in the back >:O Well anyways upload your pics everyone I'll be putting up the video as soon as I can
So overall really fun we had at least 40 people at one point, and about 25 people signed up for the main tournament. After group stages we began to stream, and eventually we hit up to 400 viewers! Thanks a ton to everyone who showed, it was really awesome seeing so many new faces and we're definitely going to be planning another one in the future, maybe even bigger! :D
I'm uploading the replays we have now, I don't know when you might get your replays because we had to ask for the Eudemonia account for everyone who wanted their replays, if you could tell me or Dean your account name we could try to get your reps from there!
Reps: [url blocked]
Give me suggestions for some highlight games! Some good ones, ZvZ Suppy vs Funkapotamus 1, PainUser vs Suppy, dOpa vs PainUser
Keep in mind that there's a lot of replays mixed up because of the eudemonia account sharing, it's a bit disorganized but hopefully we can find most of the games on there.
Why this LAN was fun: - Everybody's great attitude. You guys are good folks =D - Watching everybody geek out over the teamliquid banner. "IT'S OPENING! IT'S OPENING!!" - banelings zerglings banelings zerglings - going 2-3 in the fun mini tourney hahaha - HD is really good at casting. I mean I know I'm not saying anything groundbreaking here but it was awesome to see him in action. Kept up the enthusiasm late into the night! And other random people at the store were introduced to the wonderful world of starcraft commentary. - Jokecasters singing "the final countdown" - dance dance overlord oon-ts-oon-ts-oon-ts
Also: I saved the replays from the computer that was doing the shoutcasting (probably easier to find the highlights in that bunch), but they didn't get included in Dean's mail to you. We'll get those to you soon.

dOpa vs PainUser Game 1 (the phoenix lifting and stalker scene) and dOpa vs. longshot (base race with VRs and probes)
and yes judy that is me on the far right of that one picture =)
Well hosted tournament, awesome (emphasis on awesome, glad to have memories of the event) pictures, not enough food but I bought my own anyway Looking forward to the next event, props to dOpa and Pain for putting on a show in the finals
The LAN was a ton of fun. Too bad I got there late and couldn't get in on the tourny but watching everyone play was fun. Seeing PainUser's Terran gameplay and HD's casting was cool too. Throw another one soon!
Here should be most of the reps! Should have everyone who told me to wrote their names + anyone who's games were casted / played on the streaming computer. Let me know of any highlight games!
Ok, Suppy works fast. I had just emailed him the replays and then I opened them up to take a look before posting here... only to find that he's already done so. haha
On August 26 2010 14:45 Superiorwolf wrote: I'll have a thread up sometime in the near future, just keep watching for it!
any vague idea regarding when the next one will be?
2-3 months is a good time to expect the next one
So any other good reps? I have: dOpa vs PainUser Suppy vs Funkapotamus dOpa baserace vs who? Spinning overlords / spinning spine crawlers PainUser games in general
I know there were a lot more good games I saw out there! Let me know what they were :D I'll probably watch all the reps anyways, but it's nice to know what else to look forward to.
