Also, my team barely has a chicken after last pick bounty picks one up. Other team does level one rosh and proceeds to wreck all our towers by 15 minutes with their pushing lineup. I really wish Volvo would bring back SoloQ...Also add single draft and random draft (aka the best pub modes) to "ranked" mode. I feel like soloQ with these two modes is the best dota you can have when you're playing by yourself (which is what I do majority of the time) Don't even really care about the longer wait times...just tab out and browse TL/reddit for a few mins | ||

I rarely solo queue, usually playing with a 2-5 stack. Whenever I play with friends I tell the "pubs" to pick whoever they want and we'll fill in the gaps. You'd think this would be a solo player's dream, you can pick WHOEVER YOU WANT and your team will pick around you! Wow! But pretty much every time I do this, the other players just don't say anything in chat or pick or anything, so eventually the timer is about to count down and so my friends and I just go ahead and pick. Then, of course, after we have already made our picks, do the other players pick. And by god, it seems like most of the time they pick the most idiotic picks imaginable. Like picking a safelane farming carry when we already have one when we need a support (this is the most common). But it seems like whatever hero is the worst possible pick given our setup, they pick it. That just infuriates me. If you want to make a dumb bloodseeker pick then PICK WHEN WE TELL YOU TO! It's worse when they rest their pick on a certain hero, say windrunner, so I think "ok this guy obviously wants the windrunner so we'll give him the offlane solo" and pick for that and then he picks last, and it turns out he doesn't pick windrunner at all but something stupid that doesn't work with our lanes or general team idea at all. That's the only thing that makes me really mad at this game (besides obviously the complete assholes). I can deal with bad teammates or people who don't know the game perfectly but this is just, ugh | ||

Communication is a lot better and with a stack you can just take captain and pick whatever you want for them. People are a lot more willing to cooperate in terms of laning and picks usually. | ||

Had a LC in my game who was sitting in the jungle for 15 minutes and came out with a shadowblade, a stout shield and a culling blade (no boots and he went shadow amulett first) and complained that we lost the game 4vs5 in the meantime ... -.- | ||

Game before that 2 hispanics that start to flame me after I don't come bottom to "gank." I was death prophet and I was having a great game too...laning went very well against viper, somehow ended up getting an ultrakill early on. This disruptor and bounty combo just feed though, all the while flaming me, saying things that made very little sense. Disruptor kept on saying "mid or feed" in all chat over and over again and other things in broken english. I mute everyone but still...when you play with cancerous people like that, can't help but get discouraged at this game. | ||

Pick a hero that excels at jungling rather than a hero that is much better in lane, I imagine. | ||

go to a fucking lane? most heros that are often junglers in pubs (furion, lone druid, lifestealer, doom, Ursa etc.) get more farm in a lane and are generally more helpful for the team if they farm a lane. A dedicated jungler is only good if the team survives long enough so the extra gold and exp can kick in but if you can win/defend 4v5 for 15-20 minutes you probably would have stomped a proper 5v5 anyways. The only heros that should jungle from the start are chen and enchantress (sometimes other supports like maiden or veno) but not full time and they are not sitting in the jungle forever they are supposed to gank before the 5 minute mark. Some heros that farm really fast in the jungle like enigma or lycan are never played in pro games because they take too long to be useful. | ||
