russian necrolyte goes jungle. doesn't spend any of his starting gold. doesn't come out of the jungle, doesn't buy anything for 20 minutes. at 20 minutes he has no items at all, 4k gold with which he buys a relic. 3 minutes later we lose 2 lanes of rax, he types in all chat "gg team unskill".

(I wanted to start a thread about bizarre/humerous cases of griefing in Dota 2 but the thread was closed and I was told to simply "stick to the QQ thread". So, here is my OP, copy and pasted from the now-closed thread.)

Every day in Dota is a new day of experiencing the worst the internet has to offer. Flaming, griefing, whining, raging. It's something all Dota players are familiar with. But every so often, something crosses your path. A stray anomaly, an incident so peculiar that it sticks in your mind forever.

It was a day just like any other day. Not really in the mood for solo-queue that day, I called up a few friends on Skype and set up a 3-stack for some fun. I'll never forget that game... We were Radiant side, and I was playing Balanar mid. My two friends were playing support, Chen and Lion. Our offlaner I believe was Syllabear but I can't recall off the top of my head. But it wasn't the offlaner that I would remember on that fateful day, no. I'll never forget his name. Pixel Garcia. He was playing Phantom Assassin.

The game was back and forth. It started slightly rough as the enemy got an early first blood thanks to a 0:00 Invis Rune. But PA was getting farm and when night came I managed to sweep down to the safelane and pick up a double kill. From then on the game evened out while PA farmed... But it wasn't enough. No, not for Pixel Garcia.

Around fifteen minutes into the game, my friend playing Chen stops in his track. "Oh my god, I'm abandoning. Right now." We were confused. What was wrong, dear friend? What had happened to bother you so much? "He ward blocked the jungle..." It was then that I saw them. Sentry wards, a dozen of them. Each one strategically placed to block our entire jungle with surgical precision, preventing Chen from getting any farm or Persuading any creeps. Pixel Garcia had removed Chen from the game, single-handed. A chorus of rage erupts from our microphones. We don't just want answers, we demand them. But Pixel Garcia has no time to respond, he simply sells his items to purchase more sentry wards.

Needless to say, the game ended in a loss as PA sat in the fountain waiting for the end to come. But it wasn't the ragequit that was so strange, it was the conditions surrounding it. We were winning. It wasn't a sure-thing, to be sure. But with PA freefarming up a 13 minute battlefury and my Balanar snowballing fairly effectively we were starting to gain real ground. So why had this player suddenly snapped, seemingly out of nowhere. There had been no event to facilitate it. No teamfight lost, no flaming in chat, no sudden 5-man ganks on the safe lane. It had come completely out of nowhere.

We were stunned, it was the strangest griefing we had ever seen. At their core, every player wants to win. Even the ones who troll, the ones who rage, the ones who don't communicate or even the ones who are bad at the game all want to win. But here was a player who defied that. We had to find answers. And so, like the Homicide Detective who goes through a dead man's computer, we went through Pixel Garcia's match history. Surely there we could find the cause.

Thousands of games. Thousands of hours of Dota. We poured through them, and it was there that we came to a horrifying conclusion. When the clock struck 15:00, Pixel Garcia made a decision. If he was extremely fed, having gotten first blood, second blood, third blood, and started snowballing out of control, he would play the rest of the game out. However if he wasn't fed... it was over. Even when he hadn't died, even when he was doing moderately well, it was over. 0/1/4 wasn't enough for him. 1/0/2 wasn't enough for him. No, he had to be ten kills ahead of the guy in second. Even in cases where his team was completely stomping the enemy it was over.

It was chilling. Here was a human being so obsessed with his KDA that all other aspects of the game were meaningless to him. It was bizarre, it was confusing, but it made a damn good story.

I played a game in Dota 1 on the russian ICCUP servers (They ran more smoothly). Game starts out nice and we pick some decent lanes. Suddenly as the game starts Pit Lord decides to flame me for no reason for going mid. Just seeing anyone speak English surprised the fuck out of me given that I was playing on the Russian servers and generally no one ever said anything on iccup. You just played dota and didnt give a fuck about your team, a true solo-queue experience.

But this Pit Lord didn't just flame, he gave up on that after about 30 seconds. Then he proceeded to spam ping me for 5 minutes straight in what will truly be the most bizarre game I have ever played. 5 minutes of spam pinging so fast I was wondering if he was just afk on his lane just to ping me. I have never seen anything like it and it just kept going what felt like forever. At one point the pinging momentarily stopped as he got ganked and died but then immediately proceeded to spam ping me.

Iccup was a magical place.

Pudge who can't land a single hook except on Ursa (great idea, right?). Visage who is super aggressive against a skywrath and SK, ends up dead everytime and doesn't learn. Lone druid afk-farming in woods refusing to help when bear has entangle. MM is fine, move along.

This exact thing happened to me today, They went trilane top, but our lina failed to hit his stun when sd disrupted him, so the enemy hero escaped. This triggered sd to sell everything, buy wards and block the whole jungle. He did this for about 20 minutes. He then decided we weren't losing fast enough so he proceeded to feed himself a few times. Fun times were not had

yep, and he got it too. just before our throne went down. funny thing is i didn't realize it until i saw him sitting in the jungle with an empty inventory and 4k gold. i only checked what everyones doing cause we had lost 2 towers very fast and i was solo offlane vs 2 people. then i click on this guy and...

How is OD supposed to win? Drow outranges auto-attacks and Astral, has a silence with even longer range, has a slow to keep him out of range, can do big damage without any mana, will almost never lose Markmanship bonus 1v1...and OD is almost as squishy as she is.

Seems like a matchup where you just Frost Arrow every time OD gets in range and move back a little.

The only dangerous moment is when OD gets to 6 and can nuke you.

Drow starts with 0-1 armor and OD with absurd 5 armor, OD has higher base damage that only increases with Astrals. He should still be able to astral you here and there, and Drows attack animation is pretty poor. Like many matchups of OD vs agility/strenght heroes that don't need mana, the initial block is important, but I don't see why Drow would have the clear advantage. Markmanship bonus only happens at level 6, by then OD can kill her with his ult if he won the lane.

I don't think it's so absurd that a Drow wins the lane if she outplays him, I've seen worse heroes in the matchup beating OD, but OD is far from helpless in the matchup. It's no Razor.

Pretty much what SKC said. It's not outrageous for Drow to win if she's a better player (better block, etc.), but it is slightly OD advantaged based on their initial stats.

Well, it's seems like an entirely positional match-up. If OD can get off those good Astrals then the damage and farm can snowball.

Otherwise, that first point into Precision Aura closes most of the damage gap, and Frost Arrows usually means eating two hits for every one, which more than makes up for the armor.

Plus if Drow can harass at the first two levels to force Bottle (and get Boots first for herself), the situation will snowball in her favour.

Either way, it's not a match-up that is absolutely shocking for Drow to win.

Jesus christ....I announce "We need to teamfight, they have SB and drow/sniper/riki will get fat if we just trade and don't push". We win one fight in the middle (4-1 for us) and it seemed like almost immediately our bloodseeker starts farming ancients, our zeus goes hunting alone in the enemy jungle, and our axe tries to take guys 1v1.

It's almost like they wanted to play like idiots just to prove me wrong.

Never again am I picking rubick if I solo queue - every time I pick rubick it's an auto loss. Sure, I don't always get good steals, the occasional ulti, the occasional stun and stuff, but my team mates are the biggest bunch of retards every time I pick Rubick. I can't steal anything at times either as they just target me immediately. I enjoy playing Rubick I really do, but for the love of God, I give up using this hero as it just gets me auto losses in solo queue. I play with 5 stacks and I have the time of my life as Rubick - stealing ultis, stealing the Omniknight's heal to save my almost dead team mate, stealing fissure to prevent the other team's hero from escaping... but when I solo queue, help me dear God...

I facepalm at teammates that build Bfury on Jugg and Bounty, always lose those games unless we are far ahead.
