I... I just don't get it. Why do these people think that having a tanky hero is a must in a lineup? The concept of a tank has been discussed to death. Regardless, the gist of the dude who goes in and takes the punishment still holds true. A five-man squad without a front liner finds itself unable to engage in a head-to-head clash. It's much harder in pub games to run organized kiting teams of more fragile but damaging heroes. At least one linebacker allows his teammates behind him to be a bit safer. In today's games, the carries aren't made of glass. Life stealer, lone druid, Ursa, phantom lancer, gyrocopter, chaos knight--they all in some way draw the enemy onto them.
In a way, crystal maiden is one of the heroes that could very well use a front liner to keep opponents at bay. Long-range spells with decent cool downs means she can use probably two (maybe three) rounds of spells in a prolonged fight. As PIS said in one of his pub games (while playing ogre), "if you are a support and don't do right click damage, put your spells on cool down and fade away for a bit. Make it hard for your enemies to kill you." Yet, as one of the slowest heroes in the game, it's relatively hard to kite persistent enemies with nothing between you and them. You'll never get a good ultimate off as CM without either being very far ahead (so you have some shit like a shadow blade, BKB, etc) or having people in front to distract for you.
Edit: it appears I have been slain by acronyms. I just typed up this long post on a tablet thinking you were talking about pubs who pick CM.

Yesterday, Magnus went Orchid. yeah yeah "attack speed good" was this only three word of the entire game (cyrillic does NOT count)

Today I did a reverse troll vs Russians Connected to ru server with Russian ticked Since I'm fairly high mmr we actually had semi serious players I picked potm and went stats/leap, and randomly ulterior when it had no use, did say anything and just try to avoid/abandon any upcoming or ongoing teamfights
Entire team screaming at me in Russian, 24h lpq, but I have to admit, I feel fucking awesome
Reverse qq ofc
45 minute game btw

gj you made an ass out of yourself and wasted everyone's time, yourself included.

Hahahahahaha! So you got lpq from just that one troll game? Did you feed intentionally on top of the random ultis or is that irrelevant once all your teammates reported you?

So.. Being a lvl 2 scrub that i am with only about 50 games played (equally won and lost) I have found my dota2-qq-enigma wrapped in a riddle. I dont know how my team can win a game against a 1) ursa and 2) shadowfiend.
Somehow Ursa always end up raping 2-3 early game with a support-stun and his #2 skill, ramps up an early vlad and shadowblade and from there the paintrain rolls. Maybe even a lvl 7 solo rosh. Its just.. the amount of dmg ursa can dish out with Overpower is just immense. I dont know how to properly counter it as a team.
When encountering a shadowfiend, its always clearly a person picking solely sf for some mid-rape. he ends up getting 36 souls in notime, and therefrom some fast early kills because he actually knows how to hit with shadowraze. After that its the paintrain all over again.
im done qq'ing, I need som newb-friendly tips for this.

im done qq'ing, I need som newb-friendly tips for this. How to stop Ursa - Early game he's in the jungle most of the time. You can either gank him there, which should be easy, considering he has no escape mechanism, or put wards into his easy camp and the pull camp, so he can't farm. - You should have a ward up on Rosh vs Ursa, so you can see him going in, most don't bother with smoke. Also the sound effects he makes when using his abilities can give him away. - Get Force Staffs and Ghost Sceptres to make him sad. His mobility is nonexistant, and his damage output is mediocre after his first burst.
How to stop SF - Get a stronger mid. QoP can harass him out of lane with her dagger and he shouldn't get any lasthits early on due to her base damage advantage. - He's also weak to ganks, as he lacks HP and an escape mechanism. - His biggest strength as a carry is his farming speed, he needs to get ahead to actually be a threat.

It seems to be working because I started to report people that select English but don't use it in game. I've seen the "we've took action" message a lot now.

Ok I think it's common sense that if you play on another server that is not your home server, you should speak or at least try to speak their language; especially on USE or USW. If you don't you are just ruining other people's experiences. If you don't try to communicate in our language, don't play on our server. I don't think I'm asking for anything unfair here.

There is no spanish home server. USE offers the best latency for the majority of south america, as well as central america and mexico. It's not "your" server, it's merely located in your country. The same way the brazillian server does not belong to brazillians and they can't complain if someone doesn't speak portuguese over there. It is unfair to forbid someone to queue for the server that offers them the best latency and complain about them not selecting a language that isn't even offered.

It is a situational item that can be gotten by a mid/offlane hero, orchid can always be justified if you are against a qop/storm/am etc, it helps the team for the gank/mid game and then he can snowball his economy from there (to get his 'real' items).

Why not? If the enemy has a Puck & AM(like my game last night), Orchid first is perfectly viable. Also solve his mana issues. Mag doesn't "need" blink when he still has Skewer to initiate.

Phantom Lancer finishes a 45 minute game with a score of... 0 - 3 - 0 he just BoT'ed away from all action all the time and happily farmed while we were getting spanked.

No hes not looking for that, he finds gratitude to troll those who decide to go on NA servers that cant communicate and flame. They wasted enough of my time in this game so for that GOOD ONE MAN YOU SHOWED THOSE RUSKIES! Happy they know how it feels when someone high ping, low communication, and hard flamer joins team. How are his teammates "those who decide to go on NA servers"? To me he just looks like a dick who managed to annoy and waste the time of random strangers.

Firstly and hopefully I don't sound racist and hopefully I don't offend anyone, just my experiences with people during my play of Dota. Ok I think it's common sense that if you play on another server that is not your home server, you should speak or at least try to speak their language; especially on USE or USW. He not saying people from South Americans or Russians shouldn't be aloud to join NA servers or that its US/CAN only server. Technically if we look at Mexico is part of NA so it is understandable to join that one since it is the close server. I have had them join my games and troll me with insta flaming and not being able to communicate ;\. Its kinda shitty to be honest. He wants is there to fix a problem whereby joining up with players who WANT people to communicate but cant because of language barrier. Dota one had it that US host and Brazil host were separate. That was "your" dota games to join and for me in Canada I joined the US ones. Thats more of an extreme way to deal with it though but that because dota one ping compared to US and Brazil was huge.
For me I use to play in European west since people there do speak some English (or enough that they use the chat wheel) But swapped due to high amounts of Russians and just overall bad experience with that Learning to just avoid it, no point in dealing with it.
It all comes down to experience, if people are complaining either because of they are flaming or being flamed whos really to say. Recently having bad experiences with people speaking Spanish on NA servers and 3 games in a row got flamed, those ones started when I asked them to say it in English and I was told off and repeatedly flamed. People just want the same language to scream at or understand whats being said, far argument. So if people have games whereby that people of a language are trolling them, they just lose all will to have them in the game. I think dota is already hostile with words being thrown around and that being said, most people, 99% wont give others a chance especially if they received previous flaming since its bad history and bad experience.
So for where EVER your from Brazil, Mexico, Canada, France, Russia, the NORTH POLL etcc. If your on a server that doesn't speak your language or have people speaking another language on your server. My advise that I have been doing since my recent experiences. Use chat wheel, or ping and draw lines of movement with arrow from and to which lane. People seem to be offended when you ask them politely to restate something in English for some reason. Avoid the whole conflict and use minimal amount of communication but enough they understand what your saying and leave it at that.
