Ok, my moment to step up. I've been practicing Meepo in private against bots for a little while. Maybe six to eight hours. Just getting the control of it down somewhat so I can avoid straight up feeding. Time to try it out in a game. I offer and we swap heroes. So cool, my first game as Meepo in a pub. I end up safelane with Riki versus...Tinker. Yeah thats going to go well. Never mind Enigma should be in the jungle and coming out to gank...wait...what the hell is he doing screwing about in mid? I didn't even notice for a while until people started yelling at him. No matter...five minutes or so into the game he goes there and...gets ganked by Doom (it turned out he was farming our Jungle for the entire game). Despite the horrible lane me and Riki do ok together. Can't say the same for the other lanes. They hardcore feed Sniper and Juggernaut. Enigma repeatedly casts Black Hole and then MOVES, cancelling it...and keeps calling it Eclipse. Also blinks in and Black Holes creeps a few times blaming lag. On top of that him and Dark Seer straight up feed Sniper and Juggernaut early on and Zeus levels E last (ok minor thing but still...). Riki spends most of the game yelling at Engima and yelling for wards because the enemy has him warded and yelling about his team being noobs over allchat. End of the game? I had the second to least deaths and a 1:1 K/D. Not great but not bad considering that DS and Enigma between them managed to feed 25 kills. I'm not sure whether to rage or be happy with that. On the one hand I managed to do ok (ok being defined as "not straight up feeding) as Meepo in my first "real" game with him and managed some really good kills when I'd got farmed enough (triple kill at one point if I remember right). I really feel that with more practice I can do well with him on pubs. On the other hand...god my team was feeding so hard...and Riki yelling at everyone didn't help. :-\ | ||

They had 2 players abandon, we had one abandon and the other AFK at fountain for the entire game. 74 minutes or something it took. Otherwise it was a fairly good game, just so annoying to have players quit. | ||

i mean if you're gonna dc every 30 seconds, have friends how dont pause (and unpause game) for you, and you're 5 minutes late against an aggressive trilane what are you supposed to do? | ||

Also, I used to think matchmaking was decent, it just seems like valve said "fuck it" a few months ago and stopped caring about anything but TMM. | ||

But god damn do I know the feeling of laning with a carry that can't, or even refuses to last hit. Or go into tunnelvision farm mode and ignore kill opportunities that are set up. | ||

But for the QQ, I had my first game finally where someone brought up DBR.... o.o I'm mag mid vs. their drow. Our Tidehunter wanted to roam from level 1 and was actually doing a stellar job. He first blooded bot and then immediately came mid and got me a kill. Fast forward 5 minutes and I'm handling this drow mid and we reversed a 3 man gank on me mid. Drow decides she's had enough and afks, should be an easy win... Gyro on our team out of the blue says "Hey guys watch this, I'm gonna feed" and proceeds to walk into their towers and jungle trying to give their Furion and Naix kills. When we asked him why he was feeding his answer was, "so and so missed a kill so he's noob and I'm gonna feed. My main account is 89% platinum DBR, I'm really good" ....... ....... How do people still care about DBR? How did this guys actually think 89% plat is impressive? It makes me feel bad about myself that I get matched with these people ;( Oh yea, despite his 0-25 feed we were still up in kills for almost the entire game.. | ||

Not a very rewarding role overall I kinda disagree tbh, supporting can be very rewarding, its just that its a lot more satisfying when you are babysitting a buddy of yours and you can be sure that he knows how to last hit and use the space you provide him. Its just a lot more rewarding for me when the person im supporting understands what im sacrificing for them in-game and can appreciate it and take advantage of it. | ||
