Playing with stacks while soloqueing is so annoying sometimes, got matched with a 3 stack on the us server. They are on voice chat and seem quite obnoxious but whatever at least we have communication. Sf gives first blood to bottle first pudge who got "lucky". ( i did not say anything about that because it happens).
Im playing naix in jungle and at one point once trying to get to their kotl i get hooked by pudge and die, and Sf starts yelling at me saying "it's intentional feeding fucking idiot report! ". I told him to calm down, he didn't so I blocked him but it was enough to annoy me. Nyx doesnt understand why I want to infest into him, never comes when his ult is up. Of course the only reason they are losing is because I'm feeding (eventhough i'm 5-3 or something like that before nyx left the game...).

Game (high level) last night and i was playing mid invoker. Safe lane Centaur and jugg. Long lane tusk and and CM. Safe lane like every 2 minutes dives tower and centaur dies to windrunner (go figure). But almost every time even tho no ping or warning i pay attention and sunstrike and kill windrunner. By 8 minutes or so i have not missed even one strike and have 3 kills and also asissted top lane with strikes and ganks. So once again at this time centaur dives too far and once again obv dies to windrunner. I pay attention and sunstrike at intercept location. This time she dodges the strke...ah well cant hit them all. Obviously dead centaur starts with the caps lock flame ""NICE SUNSTRIKE RETARD UNINSTALL DOTA". I think oh well frustraded virgin no need to get annoyed. The game goes by and centaur is like 1-9 we are losing and me and tusk are the only ones with positive scores. At every team fight, skirmish every minute centaur goes in, misses every1 in the stun, dies and proceeds to flame me for random invoker stuff "Where is the meteor retard . Fukc you invoker use emp". I even get flamed by him when i have spirits out, i tornado 4 enemies, meteor ,blast and icewall a few of them and we win that fight - "Use emp vs storm spirit moron" (even tho i was exort and had only 2 points in wex at that time"
Playing Invoker is the best way to clean idiots from Dota. I get to report at least 5 idiots a day for text abuse! Every fkin idiot who plays dota has seen a pro invoker on youtube where the guy has like 8 levels above enemy team when he kills them all in one meteor+blast or he hits 20 sunstrikes in a row (obv ....its a kill compilation not an "i miss 3/5 sunstrikes clip")

AR game, we get weaver, silencer, skel king, bane, and me as cm.
Nice, weaver offlane, silencer mid, and cm and bane can support... nobody. Skel king afk jungle no communication. I tell him right away that he could freefarm bot lane and be much richer, and also threaten kills between our disables, but no response. So me and bane split the farm and harass spiritbreaker and warlock as best we can, all the while I'm becoming angrier at the fact that we're not stacking/pulling, denying xp and gold, and threatening to kill them with a trilane, but instead are sharing farm between two supports who don't need it. A minute in, bane told me that he's played with the sk before, who picked morph and had only bare boots and aquila 30 minutes into that game.
In retrospect, I should have realized that sk was a fucking idiot and told weaver to come to bot where he would get better farm, be more safe, and we could threaten kills better, even though we would have to completely abandon a lane. I dunno. I was pretty much ready to abandon 5 minutes in because I knew how the game would turn out and I don't have time for this shit. I didn't abandon because I couldn't find the abandon game button. Anyway, our sk was afk jungle the whole time (though he got midas so his farm wasn't nearly as bad as I expected), and sb on the other team got fat and killed everybody, because there was nothing we could do to threaten him between a shield and warlock heal. Also silencer lost mid.
Also, how on earth is it that I'm still getting matched up with people who can't figure out lanes? People whose only understanding of lane composition is "make sure that you have a ranged hero in each lane!"? People who think "playing support" is equivalent to picking a support hero and just fucking sitting there in lane doing nothing but the occasional harass/deny? The better ones will buy courier and maybe 0 minute wards, and maybe maybe get a mek, but generally are more worried about how quickly they can get their aghs refresher going.
Here's why I hate this game:
I thought that by putting in the effort to get better at the game, I would win more. But actually, I just become more frustrated at how shitty my allies play and the ridiculous ways in which they can throw games. So I get really frustrated, realize that 90% of the game is out of my control, and just try to take it easy. Maybe take a break from DotA.
But taking it easy fucking sucks. I want to win. Not really sure what to do at this point.

Thats all my 6 games so far.
And ive went like 47-42 myself. Considering u die a lot more when ur team loses, all so some of those games i just kept running in out of boredom when we had 3 quitters... Still...wtf dota matchmaking....wtf.... i constantly get people with me who are first timers. buy 3 couriers or just endless wards etc etc. While the enemy team usually has people that are good.

Arrange a group of ~10 friends that play often enough that you can run a 5-stack every night. That way even when you don't want to go super tryhard you can still arrange semi-decent lanes.
Easier said than done, for sure. The best way is probably just to add all non-retards and ask to play with them all the time. Some won't work out, some will, but I think you would be surprised how fast you can grow a group of decent friends if you really want to.

You will not always play with people with the same amount of played games as you have. My first game had one with 5 games iirc. And it slowly gets better with the matchmaking imo

I did that a while ago, basically playing pubs and actively adding anyone who communcated and generally didn't seem like an asshole. Met some friends that way, and actually we formed a team, and we play every once in a while, but they don't play as often as I do, and our schedules make it so we can only play like 1 game a week as a team.
That said, team matchmaking is really fun, I've enjoyed what I've played so far. We're undefeated in our 3 matchmaking games, usually winning through the draft, and sometimes winning the laning pretty hard as well (one game I had 63 denies mid with silencer). But yeah they're not on as much/at the same times as I am.
But yeah, I've decided I can't solo que anymore, because it's really lose-lose. I can't just fuck around, because that's not how I play, and I can't actually try, because I'll just get frustrated by teammates who are fucking around/are bad.

metagame.
I CANNOT STAND watching the same freaking heroes played in every bloody pro-level matchup.......
Currently watching a game and so far NTH has picked magnus, luna, SD and mouz has picked kotl, nyx and gyro... the bans so far are just as boring as the other potential picks in; chen, NP, bat, LD, BH, DS, wisp, naix, enigma, tide.
Is this purely a balance issue? to what extent is this a "flavour of the month" problem? I mean I realise that a lot of those heroes are strong and im pretty sure Luna has been a top pick since the inception of Dota1...
After writing this, mouz picked up a clinkz, which is better than better than nth's Queen of Boredom pick -_-

Umm... This month has had so many unorthodox picks. Dignitas has started running Warlock/Spectre a lot. Alchemist is getting play. Meepo and Bloodseeker both got used once. Spirit Breaker, Riki and Sniper have been used a couple of times. In my opinion, this has been the most exciting month of DotA 2 picks.
|
Mouz just ran Pudge/Omni. TIME TO COMPLAIN ABOUT PICKS TOO STANDARD.
|
If we think of all the dota 2 happening and we can only name a handful of interesting heroes picked "a couple of times", then that kind of reinforces my point don't you think?
I'll pay the pudge and warlock picks though, i enjoyed seeing them... sadly 2 out of the 3 times I saw pudge they were throwaway games (i cannot remember who was playing... two NA teams in the defense, playing when the points didn't really matter)....
But still... I can see how you might think a few picks makes for an interesting game but the other 8 heroes were still the same... I really want to see totally unorthodox play, without it being either scrub-level or non-serious competition...
|
Chen had been out of style for a while. Gyro was a "WTF" pick not THAT long ago. Luna was definitely NOT even considered playable as recently as TI2 (I believe zhou played her like twice at TI2 to everybody's great surprise).
We get to see disruptor every so often, which I think is cool, visage has been showing up, which I hate but certainly isn't "stale", both bounty and sven were big picks at the very beginning of the new year, which isn't that long ago. I dunno, I get the impression that if every game doesn't resemble an AR match then you won't be happy...

You have to keep in mind that teams are competing to win, and with that in mind, I'm actually surprised about how varied the picks are. I don't know if you're not watching the right games, or you expect teams to quadlane/play zeus/[insert extremely obscure thing] every game.

mouz has been picking freaking tree here and there. Tree.

Yeah but the holy grail of balance is for teams to be picking heroes to play to the strengths of the players and their strategies rather than playing to the current metagame...
I guess a good analogy would be Proleague versus MLG... in proleague you know who you're playing and you get amazing strats and mind-games happening... in MLG you have to play so generally because you don't know your opponent ahead of time.
It feels like dota2 atm is playing like an MLG player in a proleague environment... I hope a few starcraft followers will understand my analogy at least...
And yeah, I watch mostly tournament games with something at stake where people are playing 100% to win...
Where can i find high-level games with real hero diversity? : D The defense and D2L isn't delivering :<

What is it with invisibility that makes people go full retard? They for some reason believe that they are immortal no matter how many times they die in exactly the same fucking way. I had Drow, Slark and Clinkz constantly donating themselves to the other team for no good reason. Why do they do this? We won though, miracle game.

Which is sometimes hilarious. I was Jakiro one game and the other team had a Brood. I bought sentries and observers right away and said "Warding then going wherever Brood is". She was mid, and luckily we didn't have a good mid hero, so nobody really complained. I got like 5 kills on her in the first 6 minutes.

Clearly you haven't been watching dota for long, many of the heroes you mentioned were surprise picks or never picked at all in TI2.

I get the analogy, but I'm not sure if you could ever have the kind of preparation that you can have for a game of SC2. Because there are so many possible combinations of heroes that THEY could run combined with the fact that they could pick or ban a hero that you needed it seems like you could rarely if ever have something like the kind of build order "sniping" that you get in proleague. I don't think that means that picks couldn't be more varied etc. but I'm not sure if you could ever get to that extreme when it comes to preparation.
