Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |
Happened just now:
First words of warlock: Im drunk and stoned, im only gonna support you guys.
We had no flying courier or wards until he got phase boots and drums. We were up against nyx and PL, natural invi heroes and a pudge and OD who got shadowblades. 0 sentries throughout the whole game.
Oh, and he kept getting himself pretty far deep into the lanes and insta-killed by 3 or 4 heroes.

Also the "commend me" beggers. Yeah ok, you won, congrats. But if the only thing you said to me all game was "commend me", then none of the categories really apply to you do they? I want my own commendations to mean something, so I'm not going to give them out like candy just to stroke your teenage e-peen.
Yea, it irritates me when i see people going wtf no supports. Pick one yourself if you want support. Noones entitled to no shit afaic. Although I would normally try to make a proper team in all the non-AP modes so long as others don't pick retarded. I only play AP to pick a hero I feel like playing and will insta pick and cbf if your didn't get the supporting cast you wanted. Seriously, these people piss me off with their self-entitled shit.

The good old no boots, refresher orb with no ulti on lvl 14 Zeus build. Also huge team fight is going on in mid, when suddenly Zeus decides that it is a good time to go check for bot rune, so he can bottle it up "hell yeah i have a rune in the bottle kekeke". Why do people play this game? Go play 50 games with bot first and then come back.

Playing a game of SD.
One guy picks Puk, claims mid and asks for a support. Teammates pick Razor, Nightstalker, Skeleton King. I have Luna (a hero which i like to play very much), but due to the lack of supports i pick KotL. Flying cour plus wards as starters, but a little late start in the game for i had to convince myself first to play support. The laning doesnt make ANY sense (Balanar and SK on one lane?!?!). So i go to Razor.
We play against CM / Ursa, but just stall them with our range. Puk in mid starts feeding the enemy Pudge and complains about lacking wards by me (i did not ward the mid highground to be fair, but our enemies were warding with Necro and CM, so they could pretty much deward me...) Bottom gets crushed horribly by a Necro and SB.
Well, glad i did not pick Luna. Nightstalker still ended the game with "report KotL". G to the f**king G http://dotabuff.com/matches/130372576

Ok before the feedfest began, can you not get the courier yourself? Just wondering, because I've been to games where the Puck decided he's "important", calls mid over tinker, whined about no wards and such. I've also been told by a DP (who called mid) that a mid hero should never buy courier. However, that DP said he'll "support" after level 6. /shrug

Recently have managed to go 4-2 with her and would have been higher if not for the worst anti-mage ever. Brood insta-dies like a support late game, but unlike a support has no good spells. Not really a carry either. Good lane pusher sure, but late game..... I like playing brood, but my win-rate is abysmal with her. Maybe I'm just one of those that don't know how to play her. I guess the idea is to win early? Good luck doing that in a pub.
Always carry a TP, don't feed your spiderlings, use spare spiders to scout or farm the jungle, always carry a TP, be prepared to be flexible with your items. If a teamfight is happening and you can get to it easily, go do that, but if you can't, take a tower. Basically the key to playing Brood in pubs is, you know that awkward moment when their team is sorta milling around the t1 area in mid? and your team is huddling around the t1 area in mid too? and no one's really farming or moving or anything? you should be pushing as hard as you can with an eye and a half on the minimap. Just splitpush whenever it's safe to do so and force them to react to you.

Yeah like the guy said. Brood is used in pro games because there is a specific strategy being played by that team from start to finish. In pubs where there is basically no strategy to begin with, he can seem like a useless hero that only pushes. Still, she does take some skill believe it or not, and I've seen great Brood players decimate their lane even in 2v1 situations. But yeah, basically your goal is push when you're being ignored. If they start sending people to focus you, just hope you have another hard carry on your team that is currently abusing his freedom. If you get good farm, I recommend trying to build vlads and mek fast. I've tried it, and it works surprisingly well. But only do this if there's no one else currently able to get those items as fast as you.

IS SUPPORT THE NEW BITCH ??
I explain, i play 2 game yesterday, 2x random support, playing it like your best friend (wards, friendly items, offering heal pot, stacking, walk across the map to help gank etc) We finally lost the 2 games. Not because we play bad, but the other team was just better. (teamplay/skill/idk) At the end of each games, i have bad stats but some good assist, i really do nice games in my PoV.
Some people just starting flaming me cuz i have "negative stats". They says we lost because of me? NOT ENOUGH KILLS Man, it really pisses me off. Specially by a Drow-picker and a noob-middle-Pudge.
I can't play until next Monday cuz i visit my GF in Barcelona and i stay on those 2 shitty game WOOOOOO

Not when I'm already standing by the rune spot by the time half my team even leaves the fountain. I'm not psychic to their loadouts. Walking all the way back to the fountain and then back to lane would have made my minimal initial loadout in favour of a faster bottle completely pointless.
As it was it proved to be pointless anyway due to no courier. But you can't foresee that at -30 seconds on the clock. Nor can you foresee an Ogre who literally buys NOTHING in favour of getting a ring of health as his first item (not even joking; no consumables, not even a branch). Apparently branches are "too expensive" as well. I wouldn't mind as much if he'd just been selfish and only bought personal items, you get people being dicks like that sometimes, but he literally didn't buy an item.

TA offlane, well ok, not my preferred lane but whatever. Up against PA with constant ganks from Axe, and one time with an extra Mirana on top. Zero deaths.
Enemy Beastmaster on the offlane on the other hand...gets kills fed to him and counterganks and all that jazz. Skill disparity hurray.

The MMR in this game have gotten me from playing 2 games a day to playing 2 games a week. And every time I get pissed and say to my self no dota for a while, I come back, play a game with a buddy and we get matched vs 4 or 5 man stack.
Last 2 games for example:
1.) Me and buddy are ck and cm top, we don't die once, we get a few kills, however, necrolite says on the start of the game that this is his first game of dota 2, and plays accordingly, vs 4 man stack that has bat, tiny, whisp and luna, how the fuck is that ok? 2.) Again, me and a friend que, I get Blood seeker random, I proceed to get 12 minute godlike, however, at the start of the game drow (named Slayers_Boxer no less) states that he is a noob and this is his 1st game on drow. He had shadowblade and naked boots in minute 40, again, I really don't get how do this things happen.
The 2 game I play per week are solo Q, because there is no point queuing with even one friend, since from my limited anecdotal evidence the system is totally broken.

Doesn't surprise me in the least unfortunately. Random draft game last night. Team pickups: Sniper, Axe, PL, Luna, Morphling. In that order. And Morphling had never played Morphling before (ok, fine) and so doesn't get a single point in Morph until level 10 (...wait what?).
Funniest part? We won. TA/ES vs me and morph in the bottom lane. Just kept getting kills on them. Then Luna killed TA when she went off to try and gank top lane.

F M L Playing support in dota is quite often like that unfortunately. People always blame the support for feeding if the game goes badly, even if it is the carry who throws himself into 1v5 fights and only survives because the support sacrificed himself.
Obligatory QQ:
All of my RL friends are a lot worse than me at Dota. I still enjoy playing with them though, since they at least try their best to learn. However, one day my friend asks a couple of his friends to play with us.
They had about 100 games played each so I assumed they at least knew what they were doing, but no. A pudge who misses hooks on people standing still for several second. A drow who, at 35 minutes into the game, had a shadowblade and 2 slippers of agility (no boots) and asked me, a 600 GPM Tiny to: "Please don't kill all the creeps I need farm to carry". They also had no idea what to do against Bloodseeker ulti, even after being told several times to NOT RUN and carry a TP. The fact that they were bad wasn't what bothered me though, it was the fact that they genuinely thought they were great players. Stuff like Pudge lecturing the drow: "You shouldn't buy shadowblade. At this high level of play they most likely have wards everywhere so invisibility doesn't help" - meanwhile everyone has been autoattacking creeps all-game O.o
Played a couple of games with them until I had to stop to calm my nerves. Either I could carry hard enough to compensate for the relative uselessness of my team, or I couldn't and we lost. Felt like playing 1v5. I would rather soloque than this.

I feel that while matchmaking generally works in terms of even skill level, I don't feel like my skills are making any progress or being tested by better players. Most of the time, I feel like the outcome of games goes to the team that is "less bad". I guess that's just the life of solo queue in middling MMR.
|
Just played a game as lion, was solo hardlane against medusa and Lich. I saw they have Naix so I warded both the pull point and the easy camp, so he got no farm. Avoided ganks due to the wards. Drew first blood against lich as soon as I got the ult. Ganked naix solo in their jungle. Kept on ganking, TPing from place to place and warding all game long. Was 8/1/6 eventually. No one congratulated me, they congratulated Troll because he was the highest level.
It's sad being a support.

I don't even...
Game I had just now. I have NO IDEA how we won. Lineups: Death Prophet, Ancient Apparition, Shadow Fiend (me), Spirit Breaker and Skeleton King versus Bloodseeker, Lycanthrope, Templar Assassin, Axe and Troll Warlord.
Our Skeleton King gets into a argument with our Spirit Breaker because he overextended a couple of times and died (before bitching at me for not calling SS of course, even though I did). The two of them yell at each other for a couple of minutes, then SK declares that he's going to feed to punish SB.
So he starts feeding. And starts making comments like "how about that, eh?" to SB. SB yells at him and so he keeps doing it. Just TPing to the front tower, walking into the enemy team and dying. Repeatedly. Over and over.
But we don't lose. I'm on Shadow Fiend getting a bunch of kills (totally outlaned Lanaya in the mid, even when she and Axe teamed up for a gank I got both of them), although I start dying later on as it gets increasingly harder to keep up with the amount of feed going to the other team. The rest of our team is playing really smartly and getting picks offs here and there. We lose some and win some. Pushed right back to our base but not broken. Eventually SK (who by this point had about 20 deaths) decides he's fed up of feeding and starts building items again.
Kills stay fairly even despite SK having been straight up feeding. We take a couple of good teamfights and use them to push. Almost wipe them once or twice and they almost wipe us once or twice. Then we manage to take out their whole team (plus an Aegis) right after losing mid rax. More than a minute timer on the whole opposing team respawn and no buybacks available. Push straight up mid, finish their second mid rax, take towers and throne.
How the hell we won that despite SK feeding 20 kills I have no idea. Final score was 64-60 in our favour. Hour long game and I'm totally exhausted now. We could have easily had that much earlier if SK just hadn't fed. -_-
Why the hell do people feed to "punish" people on their team? I genuinely don't understand it. If someone is being a dick on your team to the point you can't lane with him then I can understand that. I've had a few people like that on my team myself. But just go jungle. Or gank. Do SOMETHING that will at least let your team make progress rather than deliberately sabotaging them.
|
More brood QQ from me.
Apparently having a 5 level lead, making it so that they need 4 to come kill me in their jungle isn't enough for a team to know that they can take towers. '
Then again when your lion afks in the middle of the late game as you guys are trying to rax it makes the game harder...
Most other heroes I could have taken that advantage and won easilly.... why do I like brood so much?
