Not too happy with Sand King Offlane, so I am changing him back to Safe Lane (Support) - Sub Title: Jungle.

Just want to double-check his skill build: Is it max Q/W and then Caustic Finale late or do you get a point in Caustic Finale earlier?!

Note to self: update NP build + remind users to stop asking me to fix it

u only really get caustic finale early if ur farming lane vs a melee. which only rly happens in offlane or mid. for support, u want burrowstrike lvl 1 for kills, then two points in sandstorm after so u can start farming ur jungle stacks.

Caustic Finale stacking tricks in the level 4-9 range are very useful but also beyond the scope of the guide. So it's a question of whether the slow is better than an extra level of Burrow Strike, which IMO becomes true once you have a blink dagger.

Feels like Riki is really more of a Position 4 support like a teamfight version of Bounty Hunter. Seen a lot of Pos 4 Riki's going for Tranquil and urn for some sustain while roaming and setting up kills. Diffusal seems to be the only damage item he needs.

And what could he do in the offlane? Afk soak xp?

Edit: ~~Also seen smoke maxed first.~~

Edit 2: I was wrong, skill build is fine as is.

I'm not sure that's a very helpful position.

I've explained why I personally think offlane riki is an acceptable compromise, but the more people tell you it isn't, the more likely they're right and you should listen.

Mirana is actually even more schizophrenic. She's titled offlane, described as gank/roam, and builds RoA aghs which is really a core progression.

Prophet is much better now, although his core should just be "core" and not "core (jungle)".

Riki is Roaming. It says so in the sub-title.

Mirana is Offlane. The description says that she is a roaming/ganker and that is still accurate, especially with how Offlane is played recently. Ring of Aquila does not entirely dictate if a hero is "Core" or not regardless.

Nature's Prophet is Jungling. His Starting Items are specifically made with Jungling in mind.

These are all still accurate and I am noticing I'm getting feedback based on glance from the changes rather than looking a the build.

I looked at all three guides.

Prophet has faery fires. If anything, those imply lane over jungle. You only have one prophet guide and it would function for both lane and jungle if you removed jungle from the tab description. You are overusing subtitles in general.

Offlane and roaming are different things. In specific cases they can overlap (for convenience and because you don't want to make a new guide), but you are conflating them much too easily. In 99% of cases, roaming is support.

riki should be support and mirana should be mid also np should be lane but if you want a jungle build you have the wrong starting items

In a lower-pub game, if a Riki came to my lane as a support with level 1 Cloak, I'd abandon lane and go jungle as soon as I could scrape together a Talon. The expected case is that they can't harass effectively and leave me to take all the counter-harass, so I'm in a 1v2 lane with half XP.

On the other hand, whenever I take Riki offlane I invariably end up roaming full time before 6 while my 'support' borrows the lane, but that requires leveling Smoke Cloud over Cloak.

...that's why it's called "roaming". If someone takes a roaming build and doesn't roam, that's no different to some other support coming and contesting lasthits or a jungler deciding to leech safelane XP or whatever. A guide can't account for every stupid thing that people might do and it's futile to try.

Also if you're roaming you absolutely take lv1 cloak so idk what you're talking about smoke for.
