If i keep it below 80c with that graphic card and case, it looks fine silence way?
Or should i buy another fan to the case in anyway, can this be a good idea? Or does it seem unnecessary?

the case is good and quiet, h440 is among the best for quiet+airflow, it comes stock with 3x 120mm front and 1x 140mm rear (which seem to be ~1000-1200rpm) and you can add 2x140mm or 3x 120mm top if you want to. Unless you want extremely quiet, you don't have to worry too much about it because you can have a system way quieter than most with such a case and a single non-reference cooled gtx770 (noise under load) ^you should probably set a custom GPU fan curve, though. I'd recommend that to anyone (everyone's airflow, room temperatures, noise tolerance etc is different) but a lot of people don't seem to bother

Was thinking of getting one 1x140MM extra fan to that case. I think i found a really good one, the reviews were positive. Cougar Vortex HDB CF-V14H Dont know if this name is familiar, however, the DB says 18 only. That is silent. It also said it helped well with the air in the case. I hope it fits this case tho. Not 100% sure of that. Have to ask the site on that one. If i had more experience i would probably add more fans like this. If u have experience of this fan or other fans. Would you advice me getting extra fans to the case? Unless you want extremely quiet I do want extremely quiet. What should i do for this? There are other ways than adding case fans? Did i misunderstand? a single non-reference cooled gtx770 I take it has to do with noise under load but what exactly does it mean? Iam not used with this good english.

You should also first try the fans the case comes with to see if you like them. When choosing a fan, the db numbers are not good to judge fans. It does not say how they sound to your ears. There can be strange noise that's annoying like for example ticking. I don't know how to best find fans that are good enough for you. I personally wasted quite a bit until I found fans that I liked. The silentpcreview.com website might help. I bet you don't need anything and the case and its fans will be good enough. Thinking about this a lot is probably a waste of time until you've seen it in person. ![]() What you do to get things to run very quiet is configure the behaviour of all fans yourself. Those "fan curves" mentioned mean that you are able to set rules like this up: 20 C -> 20% fan speed 30 C -> 20% 40 C -> 25% 50 C -> 30% 60 C -> 40% 70 C -> 50% 80 C -> 60% 90 C -> 100% That would be something for the graphics card or CPU fan. It translates the temperature sensor reading into a fan speed. You can draw a picture with a curve for that. What you probably want is a motherboard that comes with software that's good enough to also configure the case fans in a similar way. I think the current Gigabyte boards can do that fine in software. I don't know about doing it without software through the BIOS. I got the impression that ASRock boards can probably do that very well which might be interesting as it would not need any software installed.

By non-reference cooled i mean.. GPU reference designs usually use blower coolers and look like this: ![]() ^They are quiet loud. Getting non-reference cooled models (like the windforce, directcu II, msi gaming edition, the EVGA acx? twin fan cooler etc) that are usually open air with 2-3 fans means you have higher performance and better performance at the same noise level as those reference coolers for a single-gpu setup. The type of noise you get, and when it gets loud, depends on the model that you get. Almost all of them should be at least good though. With a stock fan setup h440 and a single 770, as well as one of many noctua, thermalright or some other CPU coolers (noctua are known for good quiet fans and thermalright has a few nice ones like the ty-147) you should be able to set up the GPU fan speed in a way that doesn't make much noise at all. The case is somewhat noise-dampened etc too, IIRC.

I posted in the tech forum already, but that was the wrong spot i suppose. So I'll post in here. Need a bit of help. Cyro has already given me some great info, but if other people have some ideas as well that'd be great. Would like to stream and game on 1 computer. I browsed the web and have done a fair bit of research, but I'm still total noob status and confused. From what i've seen this seems to be the most helpful forum for tech/stream advice. So kudos to you guys. I will be honest, I'm not playing the games featured on this site but primarily dayz standalone/bf4. If the other games are a requirement for help then that is not a problem and I can find the appropriate forum. Before I go on, I will say that my upload speed sucks for streaming.... at 0.7mbs and download at 8mbs, and can't upgrade atm due to area restrictions. I've seen a post on here about streaming on a lower than 1mb upload speed, so maybe it is possible with a decent resolution. Aussie streamers seem to be able to scrap by as well. If not possible, then please let me know. What is your budget? trying to stay under $1500, around a $1000 would be ideal, but I'm prepared to be realistic. What is your monitor's native resolution? 1920x1080 / 1080p What games do you intend to play on this computer? What settings? Dayz SA / Battlefield 4 / both highest settings What do you intend to use the computer for besides gaming? Streaming (high priority) / Stream management / skype / teamspeak Do you intend to overclock? Hope to not need to, maybe in the future Do you intend to do SLI / Crossfire? No Do you need an operating system? Yes Do you need a monitor or any other peripherals and is this part of your budget? Yes / not part of budget. but pretty competent in this department, suggestions are always welcome, however If you have any requirements or brand preferences, please specify. No, just reliability and good price ratio What country will you be buying your parts in? The Netherlands If you have any retailer preferences, please specify. Local would be good as I like to support local businesses, but suggestions are always welcome. I've put together a build for you guys. I picked these parts based on reviews and opinions of others. It's a little on the expensive side for my comfort, but i didn't want to skimp on the processor, video card, and motherboard. Any way I can reduce this price without sacrificing quality would be awesome. Would like to use it for the next 4-5 years. My build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qY9MwP mobo GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87xud3h processor Intel® Core™ i7-4770K FC-LGA4, "Haswell" http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i74770k cpu cooler Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 video card ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx770dc2oc2gd5 SSD Crucial M500 CT240M500SSD4, 240 GB SSD (only getting this, plan on using 1tb external drive for movie files, misc files that I already have.Thoughts on this?) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-internal-hard-drive-ct240m500ssd1 memory G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-1333 Kit F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL, RipjawsX http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f310666cl9d8gbrl case Lian Li PC-9NA http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lian-li-case-pc9nb pcu Corsair CX750M 4x PCIe, Kabel-Management, Zwart http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx750m cd drive Samsung SE-208DB/TSBS (couldn't find this one on the pcbuilder list) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151262&cm_re=Samsung_SE-208DB/TSBS-_-27-151-262-_-Product software WIndows 8.1 I already own a macbook pro that I could throw windows bootcamp on and try that out, but I doubt that would suffice for gaming and streaming. But here are the specs on that: macbook pro retina 15inch 2012 build 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Thank you all for your help and excuse the long post!! Cyros response from other thread: You probably can't get a good screen. Maybe something watchable by friends, but people in general won't want to watch it. It would be something like one quarter of your screen resolution at 30fps with visible encoding artifacts during motion if you got it to work. As for hardware, i'd recommend better psu*, ~1600c9 RAM, better CPU cooler (hyper 212 is low-mid end) and saving money with i5 + z87x-d3h instead of ud3h. The unlocked devil's canyon Haswell CPU's might be launching June 2'nd and we already have z97 motherboards, so you might want to wait and switch parts around there too. I didn't look at the case~ *450w is more than adequate for 770 + 4670k/4770k at normal overclocks, so you can get a better quality unit at a similar or sometimes even less price.

Iam getting this motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3 Hard to read somewhere if i can manually control my fans. If someone know about it, feel free to say yes/no. Will ask the site about it to. Other than that. You have made me calm. Will probably pass on adding fans(and not worry about it). I take it its quite easy to install them yourself if u buy them later. Will check that silent site out. Or maybe i shouldnt.. My computer build is done now. That site might make me change my mind...jiack Good thing i picked the ATC, i knew it was something good about it ![]() Any good way to link my build. I have seen someone else link it on a site or something? Smoother to see.

im from germany and im planning on getting a new pc. as this is my first pc (had a mac before) i don't have the best knowledge about the single parts. but i already read around the internet and looked up some reviews on some stuff etc. i'm asking for your advice/critics on my so far "selfbuild" computer. i really appreciate any time you guys take to help me! What is your budget? 800-900€, although i kinda want to keep it around ~800€ as i need to get a monitor and maybe a keyboard in addition to that. What is your monitor's native resolution? as this is my first windows pc i dont have one. but i'm planning on getting one 21"-24" monitor (depending on prices) and a second smaller monitor (like 19" or something). What games do you intend to play on this computer? What settings? games like league of legends, diablo 3, counter-strike go(these i play at the moment). no need for max graphic settings. i just want the games(and possible future games) to run on medium to good settings perfectly. What do you intend to use the computer for besides gaming? it's primarily gaming. besides that watching some movies, youtube n stuff ^^ maybe some photoshop-stuff aswell (but thats not really a necessaty to run photoshop-stuff as fast as possible, as long as it works im fine with it taking a bit longer) Do you intend to overclock? i talked with a friend and he suggested me a processor which can be overclocked (which makes a i5 to run as fast as a i7). but as im no pc pro it rather happens in the future after i read myself into how it works etc. or i might ask a friend for help. but basically yes i've planned to. Do you intend to do SLI / Crossfire? not sure about this, because i have no idea if i need to. and i dont know yet what specific size of a monitor i will get. maybe an advice from somebody? Do you need an operating system? nope. Do you need a monitor or any other peripherals and is this part of your budget? i need monitors but this is not in the budget named above. i kinda wanna have some more space to work with. if any1 can recommend me a good monitor i'd really appreciate it as i feel experience matters alot when it comes to monitors. budget for the first monitor would be like 120-160€ (21"-24") budget for the second monitor would be up to 100€ (19" or maybe even smaller as its just for being able to watch streams/episodes/youtube videos on it while playing on the main monitor) If you have any requirements or brand preferences, please specify. i kinda want a "silent" pc, that's why i chose the cooler. but if it gets too expensive this can be ignored. What country will you be buying your parts in? Germany If you have any retailer preferences, please specify. i built the one im showing you below on ibuypower.de but i also tried out ultraforce.de but i like ibuypower so far but i don't really care about any specific one. my setup so far: (-> at ibuypower.de: ~840€) Case 1 x NZXT Source 220 Mid-Tower Gaming Case w/ USB 3.0 Black- (just went by the looks here, and i like a relativly small case) Processor 1 x Intel® Core™ i5-4670K Processor (4x 3.40GHz/6MB L3 Cache) *** Overclocking S&S ***- Processorcooler 1 x Be Quiet Dark Rock 3- Memory 1 x 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3/1866mhz storage module (Kingston HyperX Genesis with Heat Spreader)- Graphic card 1 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti - 2GB- Motherboard 1 x Asus Z87-K- Powersupply/adapter 1 x 600W Corsair CX600 80+ Main-Harddrive 1 x 120GB Kingston SSDNow V300 -- Read: 450MB/s, Write: 450MB/s-Single Drive File-harddrive 1 x 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD-Single Drive Optical Drive 1 x 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive- Soundcard 1 x 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard- Network adapter 1 x Onboard LAN Network (10/100/1000)- again i appreciate any help/advice i can get! thank you for your time. cheers! =)

600W first off is overkill for that system. GTX 750 Ti and overclocked 4670k ? Eh, you're good to go with a good quality 450W PSU. Your system power consumption would be under 300W with that system (well under that even). Secondly, CX series PSUs are bad unless you're considering the most basic of builds (web browsing, maybe an i3 / low end GPU). They're just bad PSUs overall, bad parts in them, etc. You can't put any real strain on them. I would look at these units, first two are decent quality, last one is budget but still decent afaik: http://www.amazon.de/quiet-Straight-Power-Netzteil-Watt/dp/B005LUXLHS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401279573&sr=8-3&keywords=be quiet straight power http://www.amazon.de/Super-Flower-SF-450P14XE-HX-Netzteil/dp/B00H2ZZKB0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401279486&sr=8-3&keywords=super flower golden green http://www.amazon.de/XFX-P1-450S-X2B9-Edition-Wired-PC-Netzteil/dp/B005FPT38U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401279628&sr=8-1&keywords=XFX 450 Be quiet use their own fans in their PSUs which I believe makes them quiet units. Edit: Yeah I just added it up on amazon.de, it'd be cheaper to do it yourself and you get a better PSU. I threw in a decent budget case but you can get a better one if you want. €842 total + Show Spoiler + http://www.amazon.de/Crucial-CT240M500SSD1-interne-240GB-schwarz/dp/B00BQ8RM1A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280084&sr=8-1&keywords=M500 http://www.amazon.de/Western-Digital-WD10EZRX-interne-Festplatte/dp/B006GDVREI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280099&sr=8-1&keywords=western digital green 1 TB http://www.amazon.de/MSI-GeForce-TF-OC-Version/dp/B00I602S92/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280064&sr=8-4&keywords=GTX 750 Ti http://www.amazon.de/Cooler-Master-NSE-200-KKN1-Midi-Tower-PC-Gehäuse/dp/B00BTQD40W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280032&sr=8-1&keywords=N200 http://www.amazon.de/quiet-Straight-Power-Netzteil-Watt/dp/B005LUXLHS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280052&sr=8-3&keywords=be quiet straight power http://www.amazon.de/dp/B004Y4X9GK/?tag=pcp05-21 http://www.amazon.de/Intel-4670K-Prozessor-Sockel-LGA1150/dp/B00CO8TBOW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401279970&sr=8-1&keywords=i5 4670k http://www.amazon.de/Gigabyte-Z87X-D3H-Mainboard-Sockel-Speicher/dp/B00CUCRKO0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401279961&sr=8-1&keywords=GA Z87X http://www.amazon.de/THERMALRIGHT-HR-02-Macho-BW-Kuehler/dp/B008YTUN38/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401280378&sr=8-1&keywords=thermalright hr-02 macho E: oops forgot cpu cooler. i stole ropid's and here we are. but this is still cheaper, you get better parts. and I did this in 3 minutes on amazon.de, if you do research with other distributors you could shave off even more money.

For the PSU, the brand is not important. The brands all order the PSU from a handful of large OEMs (original equipment manufacturer). What's really important is that OEM. What happens in practice is that you can have both great and bad PSUs from the same brand. Cooler Master for example has some PSUs that are very good, much better than the Corsair CX you looked at, but also some that are a lot worse. What can also happen is that there's a bunch of PSUs with the same name, where the 400W to 550W models are built by one OEM, then 600W to 750W models built by a different one. So if you want to be sure, you need to look up a review of exactly the PSU you want to buy. The review needs to be one where the reviewer opened up the PSU and looked at the insides and discussed the parts used, etc. EDIT: This cooler should have very similar performance and is about 15 € cheaper than the Dark Rock 3: http://geizhals.de/thermalright-hr-02-macho-rev-a-bw-a830474.html EDIT2: I think it does not fit in the NZXT Source 220. The case has at most room for 160mm height on the CPU cooler. The Dark Rock 3 fits if the bequiet website is correct and it's really only 160mm height.

There was something about the Kingston SSDnow V300 having fake numbers for its speed. The story was that Kingston changed the chips used at some point, while keeping the V300 name. The SSD does not have the same performance as what was shown in the original reviews. This seems suspicious. I would try to find a different SSD from someone else with similar price.

So it's either get another case or get another CPU cooler. Shame the Macho Rev A BW is so tall. ^^" by the way, fractal's answer to the N200 is coming out, it's the Core 1500. 120mm rear exhaust, it's bigger, looks better. comes with two 120mm fans as well. http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/core-series/core-1500 yay fractal

The way the Noctua mounting system works, you only need access to the front side of the motherboard to install or remove the cooler. If the case is laying on its side, you simply put the cooler on the CPU and it stays in place because of gravity. You then tighten two screws and that's it. Those two screws also stay inside their holes by themselves and can't fall out, so it's all very easy. The only fiddling with small parts is done when installing the mounting kit. The case also has a cut-out in the metal where the motherboard is screwed in. Through that hole, you have access to the back of the CPU socket. This means it's very likely that you will also be able to install or remove the mounting-kit of the NH-U14S without having to remove the motherboard.
