All the keys will fit perfectly except for the space bar. On a Leopold, the switch is off-center, while on a Filco the switch is in the center. This means you just can't put the space bar on there. The shape itself is fine. | ||

That is definitely the cheapest option and I've heard good things about their keyboards. | ||

But depending on shipping costs it might be cheaper to get one of the mechanicals from PCCG or Auspcmarket (not definite that they sell to NZ, but probably). So if it does work out cheaper your choice is between the more expensive Filco from Auspcmarket, with a variety of case colours to choose from. Or a cheaper leopold from PCCG, but the space bar will not be compatible with wasd. This also depends on which switch type you want. | ||

What do you think, compared to mechanicals and other dome keyboards? | ||

If you get a mech keyboard I wouldnt recommend one from steelseries. | ||

A lot of people feel the same way about the dt-35 -- it's just another keyboard, and a silly fad that's not worth the money unless you live where they are cheap and plentiful (and even then it is still a silly fad). You are totally wrong about mechanical keyboards. The reason they are highly praised is that they feel much, much better than rubber domes. I would agree that a lot of the chest-thumping about brands and switch types is about cost and prestige, and that for Starcraft there's not a huge benefit to mechanicals. But for people who type all day the difference in feel is huge, and is worth paying a premium for. | ||

That's kind of silly thing to say. It's like saying a ball mouse is as good as an optical because, hey, it's just a mouse right? They may not always be better relative to the increase in cost but mechanical boards are unquestional better than a normal keyboard for me. That's not to say that a good rubber board can't be better than a bad mechanical one. | ||
