did you end up buying those key caps seperately or did they come with the keyboard blue? If they did thats awsome.

The IBM Model M is the original keyboard that IBM shipped back in like the 1980s. They only came in like that old computer white/grey.

IBM licensed Unicomp to make the new versions, which can be somewhat more customizable. They have different colors and such. You can find these from pckeyboards.com

However, I wanted the original vintage, and just did all the work myself. That was about 100 hours worth of sweat, blood, and tears (almost literally) of dyeing the plastic into those colors. For some reason, red rit dye allows the original key marks to show up, but blue covers them up. No big deal anyways, since I type without looking at the keyboard. I do have some replacement key caps though.

In any case, the vintage and new (Unicomp) IBM Model M keycaps are interchangeable so if I never need more, I can order a new set for like $20.

A while back I MKP'd my keyboards. An old Cherry keyboard with black switches, and a Filco with blues:

Now the Filco is sporting a doubleshot set and RGB modifiers obtained through a geekhack group buy:

I'm sort of confused with this site, where do you order a completely custom keycap set without the keyboard?

GeekHack orders groupbuys, where you specifiy, and I guess people have contacts from Asia and they order a massive number of sets of keys to keep the cost down and they deliver to that one guy, who then packages and ships them to the people who participated in the groupbuy.

I believe there are also vendors in the US that can make keycaps, but those are more expensive than the ones made in Asia.

You should try arranging the keys on the keyboard to make the Tt logo. I bet you totally could.

you go to the custom keyboard design thing, make your keyboard layout and click checkout. There it will bring you a screen where you can UNCLICK the keyboard and your just left with the keycaps!

I have the same keyboard! (Without the caps though) I had him since I was a child and it's the most resistant keyboard ever, I think I smashed my fist furiously on it after a loss for years (no kidding, I must have punched him more than 1000 times) and it's still working perfectly, do you do that too? Because this model is made of steel!

EDIT = Here's a pic (warning: no caps, the closest thing to it is me drawing the Russian strokes on top of the keys :p)
