(First off, if I've done anything wrong I apologize, I checked with all the guidelines I could before posting)
Having an issue with my laptop (Running a HD5850)
Occasionally I'll see these little squares when I'm playing, or in the menu of, SC2
They usually appear right before the game stops responding for 5-30 seconds, after which my screen turns to black and my monitor goes into powersaving mode (like i've unplugged it or shut down)
And when I'm doing something in windows thats semi-graphically intensive (Like watching a full-screen VLC movie, or streaming the GSL) there'll be what I can only describe as a clipping on-screen. Like the last 10 pixels displayed on the screen are re-displayed in the center of the screen, but are flickering there very rapidly. I have 4 second clip of this that I could upload to media fire if thats OK/anyone would like this for diagnosis.
Sometimes immediately after the odd squares and before the screen goes off, only for a second or so, I'll see a static version of some part of the screen on one of my monitors.
Been coping with Dell support on this matter, and they've sent out a guy to replace the motherboard, but I would have assumed that it would have been the GPU's fault?!
Last time I checked the temps as this was happening, they were about 60
I only really play SC2 so it'll be kinda tricky to find another game to test this issue on. but I could theoretically run 3DMark looping.. Right?
