I too downloaded the Mac GOM player upon visiting that site some time ago. I could have understood GOMtv.net not supporting OS X if there is no GOM player available, but when this chinese site let me download it I got angry at GOMtv.net - they should really support OS X.
I'm not sure if it will work. That's why i threw this post up.
I just dont understand GOM, they are actively trying to make sure people can't use their service. They are not helping e-sports worldwide by doing things like this. I shouldnt have to hack the damn website to watch the free stream.
Can you guys point me to a download link for the GOM player for mac? I'm not finding it anywhere. I figure I might as well take my chances and see if it works for the GSL streaming...
quick update. GOM player is not working for the stream. apparently the application call is improper or something. I get the error: Safari can’t open “gomcmd:///title.... But good news! the link is NOT obfuscated! the previous season's stream method is still possible!
For those who don't know, here's the method from safari:
1. log in and go to live 2. click on the link 3. recieve and error : Safari can’t open “gomcmd:///title%20Global+StarCraft+Ⅱ+League+Jan.+Opening+%20http://www.gomtv.net/gox/gox.gom? 4. copy the error url from http://www.gomtv.net... to the end right before the closing perenthesis 5. open up the url in your webbrowser 6. the page that shows up will say, GOMTV.NET (c) Gretech Corp. All Rights Reserved 7. right click on the page and select view source 8. in the source there will be code like this <REF href="avis://38.108.112.11 9 copy the entire address into VLC and replace the avis with http 10. enjoy!

ty, just tried this and it works

I don't know why but the Mac GOM player won't work on my comp. Whenever I try to open the app it will just jump up and down in my dock for ages to find the app is not responding so I just force quit it. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. Good thing that the trick still works.
Hi, if you want to open GomTV with VLC, I wrote a quick guide in here to help out. (Safari works the same as Opera and IE for this guide)
(Kinda plugging myself, but I guess it might help)
this doesn't work for me tonight when I click on the "HQ live" or "SQ live" thing tonight it just gives me a pop-up message saying "Currently, live broadcasting is not available on your Operating System."
lame, time to look for re-streams
yeah same thing happend to me. I'll look for a work around
Figured out a work around! Its a little more complicated, so I'll post with images. @Krallin, your methods you posted aren't working with macs =( thanks though

Updated steps! from Safari
Step 1.
![[image loading]](http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/8762/gomtvnetgslbroadcastvid.jpg) Goto gomtv.net and login. Right click and select view source
Step 2.
![[image loading]](http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/3829/13734541.jpg) http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/3829/13734541.jpg Option+F to search for keyword "gomtv.net/gox" Combine the two parts of the URL and in the middle put in HQ/SQ depending on which quality stream you want. HQ stream is smooth!
Step 3.
![[image loading]](http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2281/20373406.jpg) Input the address from step 2 into Safari. Right click and select view source
Step 4.
![[image loading]](http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5479/33080819.jpg) copy the entire avis url into vlc. replace avis with http and you're done!
Just for ref, GOM player for mac is out, but GSL isn't compatible yet =(
Sorry, but could you explain Step 2 in a bit more detail? Exactly which part of the URL should I copy and where in the middle do I put the SQ/HQ? Thanks
EDIT: Nevermind, I found out that you have to put "SQTest", not just "SQ", in the middle.
Snoogle has pretty much cracked it!
I worked out a slightly quicker/easier way to do Step 1 + Step 2:
In Safari, go to Preferences > Advanced and then check the box for "Show develop menu in menubar". (You'll only need to do this once)
You'll now have a Develop menu (between Bookmarks and Window). From this menu, go: Develop > User Agent > Internet Explorer 8.0 (*shudders*)
Once this is done, the GOM javascript will think you are on Windows, so you can click the buttons as normal, once you do, Safari will prompt you with a message:
Safari can’t open the specified address. Safari can’t open “gomcmd:///title%20Sony+Ericsson+GSL+Jan.+Code+A+%5BRo.32+Match+3%5D%20http://www.gomtv.net/gox/gox.gom?leagueid=20119&strLevel=HQ&target=live&mb_no=XXXXXXXXXXXXX&title=Sony+Ericsson+GSL+Jan.+Code+A+%5BRo.32+Match+3%5D” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “gomcmd:”.
You can just copy the full URL:
http://www.gomtv.net/gox/gox.gom?leagueid=20119&strLevel=HQ&target=live&mb_no=XXXXXXXXXXXXX
And proceed to step 3!
Ok, maybe that is a little more long winded... But you don't have to wade through JS source code!
Re: Step 4 -- how do I open the URL direct in the VLC gui? I've been using the command line...
@android_245, SQTest is the free feed? I'm not sure since i just watch the paid HQ feed
@pizzaguy234, >.< don't know why i didn't think of the developer menu. I'll try that once the feed comes back on in 40 mins. That's much simpler then searching through source code lol.
@Snoogle Yea, I watch the free feed, I'll confirm whether SQTest works when it goes back on.
somehow it doesnt work for me. vlc cant open the link that i recieve. and yes, i replaced the avis with http. does anyone know what i could be doing wrong?
updated my first post to reflect the simplest method.
@Snoogle - looks great! Though I think the SQ stream needs a slightly different process (I'm using HQ, but my friend had to tweak the URL slightly for SQ)
@GoBackToGo - can you post an example of the URL your a getting to, with the "important" looking numbers obscured with XXXXXXXXs. I'll see if I can help!
Can anyone post the URL to the HQ stream? This method doesn't work for me.
@pizzaguy234 or anyone who's using the free stream!
The url for the free stream is obfuscated and won't properly open up in VLC =( Someone wrote up an addon for firefox 3.5/3.6 that works pretty well. Tried it out with the free stream and had no problems. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=181714
Damn It! its not 4.0b8 compatible! I was really interested in this.
Much your should add the decode link into the guide, its a LOT easier than trying to type it in your self. Link is in the post above.
So today it seems to me they have a new format again. Anyone got an idea to get it working? I can usually figure this out myself, but this time I'm stuck.
GOM Player isnt working on my PC right now... if I can' figuret it out by tomorrow I might have to use this to watch it on my Mac.
It's not working for me today either
Gonna just watch the free sq stream. They might work after they switch to s-class.
I think they've changed the setup again. The SQTest stream stuff still works, but the HQ stream won't open anymore. Step 6 is where things have changed it seems. It doesn't say avis:// anymore, the URL actually begins with http://. However that URL will not open, unfortunately!
Ok I lied, I finally figured it out. At step 6, you end up with a http:// for HQ streams in that XML file, instead of a URL beginning by avis:// as you did until yesterday. Take that url, replace all instances of & by & and you will end up with a good HQ stream URL. You can then listen to Tastosis arguing about oatmeal
To clarify the post above, replace "&" with "&". you must also get rid of the semi's.
they just added a bunch more of stuff not only AMP;
what else should i remove/substitute, any help ?
Thanks for posting this. It is much clearer than most of the other ways. I shall bookmark this and give it a try.
I wish they would publish a Mac version. I don't like having to watch the stream on my desktop when I can hook my MBP up to my tv.
Has anyone been able to open the HQ stream with VLC? I payed for the new season ticket, followed all steps and replaced all & with & but it still doesnt work! Good job @ GomTV
Works perfectly for me. The only thing I did differently was copy/paste the info on the "source" page into a URL Decoder (search URL Decoder into Google its the first link) and THEN replaced the "&" with "&".
EDIT:
Also when I say "replaced" I really mean "deleted the amp; portion and left the &".
