I get these weird graffiti images on the map surface as well. It's a very strange bug, to say the least, but it only happens about once every 50 games so it's not that big of a deal for me.

Plus the artwork sometimes looks interesting and spices up an otherwise stale map (need new ladder maps Blizzard!).

try running the fix thing in the sc2 folder. i had this happen with a lot of the textures and it fixed it.

I've seen these sorts of things in my games too.. I had just figured blizz had decided to spice up the maps a bit, didn't realize it was a bug. They were never very obtrusive though, usually just an out of place pattern on the ground

solution
go to option menu and click graphic and go to terrain.change to something medium ultra high or low.and it will be fixed.that is all.

I've been seeing this problem as well every since I started playing 3v3, many of the maps there would end up with corrupt textures. I am a little worried that it might be my graphics card dying, but that doesn't seem to be the case after seeing all the comments.
I also have a ATI card.

So running the SC2 fixer thing would fix this? I have the latest driver available for my graphics card already.

hmm, this only happened to me once, and it was just befoire the giant 200/200 engagement. I was still a bit confused when he attacked, so i lost by a ridiculous amount... ah well.

Does happen once in a while (GTX480 here). I remember it happening on Desert Oasis once and oh god was that unplayable..

It happened to me 3 times in a row today (never happened in Beta, only since release), so I made some research and I found a blue-post about this issue :

There's a game bug where it can swap an object's texture with something else when the computer is under load. We're looking into it.

Don't worry, your graphical card isn't dying. ;-)
Hopefully Blizzard will fix this bug in the upcoming patch 1.1.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this since it's already been brought up, but this texture issue was definitely not fixed in the patches thus so far

This has been happening to me since I first got the game, once every couple dozen games. But I've never seen this texture before... I've played through the whole campaign and I can't say I recognize this texture from anywhere. This is not a joke and these are not doctored screenshots.
