As for the recent blog post, I'm not really sure what to expect. This is a modification to the game, but I don't see how it could possibly give any in-game advantage or be seen as a "hack, cheat, or exploit" in any way. I really hope Blizzard just fixes this for everyone and lets us use any client we want for any region we have a license for... Or at the very least let us use English in every region... True, but it is like you said, a modification to the game. They will probably be anal about it and see this as a violation. Think of WoW, model changing was illegal, although most of the time harmless (looking at the same character forever), it could have been manipulated to give an advantage and I guess they don't want to fuck around with loopholes in their wording.

Its a mod, but you are only changing the server the client will connect, not any ingame feature..

Right, but this is done by the localizer, which edits the client files. You can't reword "editing the client files" any other way to make it sound harmless, even if it is just language. Blizzard doesn't want you to fuck around with their shit, just beware of that post they did, so you don't go blaming girlscout if you get fucked because what he did helped out so many. For those too lazy to click on the link, girlscout does not claim any responsibility if you get owned. "Blizzard Entertainment has always taken cheating in any form in Blizzard games very seriously, and that's no different for StarCraft II. If a StarCraft II player is found to be cheating or using hacks or modifications in any form, then as outlined in our end user license agreement, that player can be permanently banned from the game. This means that the player will be permanently unable to log in to Battle.net to play StarCraft II with his or her account. Playing StarCraft II legitimately means playing with an unaltered game client. Doing otherwise violates our policies for Battle.net, and it goes against the spirit of fair play that all of our games are based on. We strongly recommend that you avoid using any hacks, cheats, or exploits. Suspensions and bans of players that have used or start using cheats and hacks will begin in the near future."

The repair tool should be able to repair your SC2 instalation and the game will be able to apply the patch with no errors. As Raniere suggested in the SC2 LA forums (http://us.battle.net/sc2/pt/forum/topic/374718284?page=2).

I'm going to get the US version from my friend, he downloaded it, but I wanted to play now. Why do they make it so difficult with all this region crap? It's not like we are pirating the game or anything... And if they become anal about relocalization, well that would be the end of it. Forcing people to download 7gb on a crappy torrent client for days isn't really a nice thing to do. They should consider people with a slow connection as well. They could at least send me a dvd with the game, since I paid for it, just bought it over the web. Good luck you guys, I hope everyone finds a solution for this...

First of all, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this. I have a ptBR license and simply can't stand playing the game in portuguese. And I was happy and satisfied... until now. ![]() Seems your relocalizer doesn't work with patch 1.1.0 and I've come to the conclusion that you're the only one who can save us now, since Blizzard has been continuously ignoring our demands for an enUS client on LA servers. Please. We love you. And sorry about my broken english, I learned it from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Maybe the guys that actually made the game don't even know about this and it is some other obnoxious sector that does this crap. It's just wrong. I bought the US version because I knew they were probably going to screw things over somehow when I learned you would be only be able to play on the continental servers where you bought your version of the game.

It takes at least 3 times as long than just reinstalling the game. Or is this just me?

Before trying to start the game, I had to copy the starcraft 2 backup i had made to the folder it creates on my documents in windows 7, because I have to run it in a window, or it crashes. So I had to copy because it didn't make another folder with a variables.txt i could edit to make ir run windowed. Ok, so then I tried to run the relocalized game and it didn't. it would start and close. Then I ran switcher and it would just tell me I was running an altered version of the game. But everything else was there, the starting screen and even the 1.1 version number on bottom left of the screen. I tried to use repair.exe to no use. Then I tried to run switcher again and it wasn't even loading anymore..... So I'm so confused guys. I mean what the fuck. Blizzard sould make an universal client with different language packs and server options. For god's sake what a punishment to users...
