So sad to see him go. SC2 just won't be the same without him. It definitely never would have been the same without him. After the death of KeSPa, Stats was the one who convinced many of the others to keep going. Otherwise TY and many others would have gone straight to BW. And since then, he always had a hand in the biggest and most important moments of Starcraft 2. When TY won his first top championship (ok he won WESG too but that's just not the same), who was it there with him at IEM Katowice 2017? Stats, smiling, as his friend finally fulfilled his potential and got the monkey off his back. When Serral, as the first non-Korean ever, did the impossible and won the World Championship, thereby surely extending the life of SC2 for a couple years do to the hype and increase in popularity it entailed, who was there on the stage with him, as always magnanimous in defeat? Stats, saving SC2 once again. And when soO, the tormented and ridiculed Sisyphus of Starcraft, in the twilight of his career once again reached the biggest stage and then finally did it and took home the championship, thus showing everyone how the ending of Starcraft 2 was always supposed to look, and making no attempt to hide what it meant to him to do it -- who was there with him? Kim Dae Yeob, clearly happy for his friend. Now people call Stats a Kong (ridiculous in itself because he is a two-time starleague champion, plus more) but what is obvious to everyone who cares to look is that Stats only ever lost a championship match (maybe even match in general?) because he loves Starcraft, he loves his friends, and he always wants to give the fans the best.
