"Only players who are in Korea are available to participate in GSL ST Qualifiers" : do we know how many foreigners still live in Korea? I guess very few/none because of the COVID situation...

From the knowledge I got, the only non-korean player in korea now is special, all others are at their home country
Kinda curious where noregret is, is he back to Canada too?

I remember him talking about having to go back to Canada in a podcast somewhere (maybe Tasteless' podcast?) - specifically, with residential foreign visas, you usually have to return to your home country to renew the visa and spend a minimum amount of time home before returning (but I am not 100% versed in visa/immigration law). It is possible that his return coincided with the COVID outbreak and has been unable to return, as Canada has maintained strict travel laws since the outbreak began.

Don't think it's too likely foreign players would manage to qualify anyway.
Looking forward to some more offline action.

Holy fuck finally qualifiers are on a weekend

Are you sure? The appropriate question is not if, but which ones. Astrea and Scarlett, the last ones who left koreans, definitely could!

Looking forward to some more offline action. Well just looking at the results from the last 3 day of DH Season Finals, that would be 100% not out of the picture. Well but nothing realy to speculate right now, as it s impossible to enter it for foreigners anyways

With all due respect have you seen the qualifier brackets of the last few gsl's? I could name loads of foreigners that "easily" should be able to qualify. The Korean scene is still fantastic at the top, but it lost a lot of its bulk these last few years.

StalkyBear could qualify (''')_( * + * )_(''')

You do realize that as a Korean tournament this would have been forced to the Korean server which esentailly makes it nearly impossible for any European player to really win vs a good player?

Hurricane qualified over DRG, probably the first upset so far in These qualifiers

What does "like this" mean? Cure and sOs definetely were the favorites vs him, but at least he took a map vs both of them.

Probably because sOs isn’t a favourite against Ragnarok

Those 3 are pretty even, none of them are really top players right now. And may just be me but I don't really like Rag's vP as much.

You underestimate Cure this way. Ragnarok has been arguably better than sOs this year but his ZvP is certainly weaker than his other matchups.
I'm sad for Zoun, he had a hard bracket while Special just never qualifies for a Super Tournament, he could have beaten Bunny. Creator has also shown a higher level of play, recently, but Armani is a tough opponent.

He was super stressed out all year which led to him not really streaming the past 2 months. Hope he "retires" if hes not happy playing sc2 professionally.

Cure just isn't consistently on the level he was in the first half of the year (or until he lost to TY). His run at King of Battles was more of an outlier compared to his other recent results (his TvZ winrate in particular is abysmal since that tournament). It shows what he can be capable of at his best, but not what we should expect. We've also seen the other end of his spectrum for example in Code S.
Also this is of course all without being able to see any of the games. With these qualifiers there's a fair chance sOs killed an SCV on a 98% done proxy and Cure just left.

You do, in my opinion; as mediocre as Cure has been last month, he's reasonably still ahead of both sOs and Ragnarok.

Cure also took a one month break after KOB and has only been playing again for 2 weeks. Cure isn’t on his dominance of the first half of 2020 but sOs hasn’t been great all year, when we do see him play its just a new variety of glaive all ins, maybe void rays this time.

I was also pretty surprised by SOS qualifying. But that guy has always had an ability to turn it on for some extra money.
Oh, Byun qualified too! Sad no Zoun, but we get Byun so thats good.

Well, sos got to Ro24 3 Times, wich makes him better than patience or creator. Cure was Ro16 3 Times Ro16 > Ro24
