Really nice stuff! What a great iniciative, but I must say I'm very surprised to not see more invites/spots for chinese players. Great tournament!
|
Now THAT'S a tournament out of nowhere. Between ESL, GTC, the new team event and the usual GSL/EPT we are truly spoiled this year!
|
The astrea invite is a little bit surprising to me but well deserved imo, hope he can perform well :D Otherwise pretty solid invites maybe a bit weak on the korean zerg front, but we got solid foreigners for compensation

Serral participating? That's great!

What??

Good to see more support from SC2 from SCBoy and China. That's extra revenue that the players can earn for themselves.

Oh well, they'll have to qualify normally then. Should be doable for Maru at least.

Otherwise pretty solid invites maybe a bit weak on the korean zerg front dark and rogue received invitation from scboy. rogue said he will not join. dark refused due to network problem as most games will be in am server

Ah ok...thats a shame. They can qualify easily tho.

That's weird. I see Trap is one of the players invited. So at least Trap from Jinair was invited.

It s 5 days for playoffs ? (with 12 players)...

Are players able to choose which of the four server qualifiers they play in? Because if so that likely means a bunch of European are going to try to metagame out who is playing in what qualifier to figure out if it's worth it or not to switch to the NA qualifier.
Not a huge fan of that sort of strategic decisions for qualifiers.

It's possible Dark lives outside the city. I remember a few progamers complaining about the commute to the GSL studio.

Well, we need some more zergs, would like to see bois like elazer, soo and Ragnarok qualify. Curious about where's neeb and kelazhur, the two players who seemed to be in good contact with scboy, but astrea performed pretty well and he's a part of GTC, maybe that's why he got invited. And where on earth did they find that TIME's picture, I love it.

Woah awesome SCboy what a legend! Let's go PartinG / Trap!

Hope this event will be assigned to some other caster than Wardii. Of course, Tastosis would be best, but realistically hoping for Rotti, Creighton, and/or Maynarde

Of course, Tastosis would be best, but realistically hoping for Rotti, Creighton, and/or Maynarde I would imagine it's application based instead of "assigned" and they've been working together well with Wardi for years at this point. So most likely you'll have to live with whatever it is you don't like about Wardi, or mute the stream, or watch another stream as I imagine there may be other language streams too (maybe even multiple English streams, who knows?).
Tastosis casting this would probably be a sign that the world is actually about to end since I can't actually remember any online events casted by Tasteless off the top of my head at all.

I hope my post didn't come off as rude or anything like that. When mentioned Tastosis it was a bit cheeky, but I was hoping Creighton or Maynarde are realistic.

Like realistically, let the progamers send their photos and ask Wolf to do a charity analysis
Seriously though, I miss Wolf

Xiaose said he will give every amateur player who eliminate a professional player in China qualifier 1,000 CNY (about 142 USD) in order to encourage amateur players.:D

Given the current situation and US at latest will put sanction plan in place on China on July 12th. The tournament payout will be .....abysmal imo. Purely speculation here. But ..........great to see XiaoSe always taking initiatives like this.
Sad times sad times.

I wonder why Dear forfeited. Hopefully he isn't too down about his GSL results :/ I hope he's not about to retire.
Getting soO in is awesome though. I was sad when I saw he lost to Armani in the qualifier bracket.

As long as the wire transaction is not banned (which would be crazy if it did get banned), I don't see a chance that there would be any problem.
And even if the sanction is rolled out, the only player that could be affected is Astrea tbh.

wow what an event. players are absolutely stacked. hope the tournament pans out well.
