so few koreans in the korean server cup, what is going on? Because of
presumably due to the Lunar New Year holiday
Family. Hometown. Friends. And food!

Lunar New Year is comparable to Christmas in Western Countries. You wouldn't expect an online Cup on Dec. 24 / 25 / 26 to be packed with Players from Europe or the American...

That time slot is in his normal streaming schedule.

Not a single win by P yet, lets hope the best for the future

Way to go Clem!! Love to see that.
And True and Scarlett,
Honorable mentions to Astrea and HeroMarine for picking up points as well.

Nice to see Polt make a good run this time

That I can understand. The trend is not so encouraging however, with 8 Koreans in Ro16 week 1 and 6 koreans in the Ro16 week 2. Let's see next week if the Koreans want to defend their server against the invaders.

I wonder why Neeb or any of the other big European (mostly zergs) names are not playing in these cups (I know Die Mauer and Big Gabe are in it, don't @ me)

They do but it's not nearly as serious as Seollal and Chuseok. Seoul almost completely empties out during those holidays. You go from walking shoulder to shoulder one day to seeing a hand full of people every hour. Shops even turn off music so it's even more eerie.

Can we all agree that protoss is seriously UP right now? How much more obvious does it need to be?

Needs to be more than obvious. Needs to be undeniable beyond shadow of doubt for people to notice. Since there's a dumb stigma against Protoss.

Unless I missed something obvious, all protoss participating in the 3 cups lost against better opposition with maybe the exception of Showtime vs Clem who eventually won the cup, so is that even an upset?

I don't know, the only serious anti-P region of IEM apears to be the European part and it's not like Cure, Serral and Elazer are really that bad players who can't beat Protosses.
But seriously, even if Protoss is UP the current results doesn't seem to show this very well.
Also in many recent OlimoLeagues Protosses take 2nd places, so it's not like they cannot win at all.

Astrea is really kicking ass lately. Good job.

Correction: PartinG has not done his military service yet. He came back from not playing professional SC2. He financed himself in other ways for quite some time.

Oh, I thought he was away for the military service, my bad then. Thanks for the correction!
