Elazer in challenger form would miss out blizcon second time in a row not third, he was in quarterfinals 2 years ago, and semifinals theee years ago.

It feels like the WCS point race really hasn't been at the forefront of everyone's mind so far, so this is a nice recap.

Dunno man. Most of her "bad luck" seems self induced. She missed WCS Spring and Assembly by choice.
Then again, EU has 2 WCS events while NA has only 1 and the bonus events were all in EU as well.

Correction on Assembly: she did try to qualify: TIME eliminated her.

I actually think the scoreboard is a very good reflection of the pecking order at the moment. HeroMarine is probably the one top 8 player I think is a bit high, but I also don't really think anyone outside of the 8 deserves it more than him.

Good writeup! Still hankering for the Power Rank which has been conspicuously missing this month. I hope a few foreigners make the cut this time given their strong performances at GSL.

It was already stated that the PR will return after WCS Fall and Code S Ro8 in the August thread.

It was stated that PR will return after WCS Fall and GSL Ro16.

We have altered the deal, pray we don't alter it further!

(we didn't have on the radar that Ro8 is so soon after WCS due to weird GSL scheduling with Korean thanksgiving and such, making the window between WCS and GSL so tight - we may still do it after Ro16 and WCS, but it could be delayed; but yeah, it's coming middle of the month-ish.)

That won't leave much for the September Rank I guess..

Code S ro4, finals and Super Tournament II for September/October PR; I agree, I would have published August/September one right after WCS Montreal.

Well they are not obligated to do one every month I guess since it's more for the funsies anyway

After this one, I expect one before Blizzcon (mid october'ish) and then one for the end of the year

Not all hope is lost, she is within striking distance despite missing Spring and ASUS ROG. Elazer’s failure in Challenger gave her a nice chance.

I'm hoping for a lot of finals variants, but the one that'd make me smile most is Has vs. Scarlett.

Personally even though I’m not her biggest fan I am hoping Scarlett gets the last spot based on a few factors:

She got basically hosed by Blizzard because of the Challenger vs GSL rule

My understanding is she was forced to miss WCS Spring recovering from LASIK surgery - cannot confirm this but I heard people saying it

She was going to be at GSL vs The World until Elazer pulled his last day voting shenanigans and basically declared all of us who truly cared about voting for the tournament irrelevant

In short, kinda think it’s time the StarCraft gods threw her a lifeline.

She already benefited of weaker competition in wcs am + the poll of the community just shows how stupid is the biais toward her.
Reynor almost got eliminated and players like Elazer and Lambo are deserving too but didn't have the slightest chance.

Yeah, in my mind Elazer, Lambo and Scarlett are pretty even, each one with his/her own strength and weaknesses and ups and downs. They are defnatly the 3 non Korean Zergs behind Serral and Reynor and ahead of everyone else

Scarlett has been one of the bigger beneficiaries of being a fan favourite than most, for years now, as you say in other ‘fair’ popularity contests plenty of others don’t have a shot.

Not that I begrudge the lass at all.
