2019 WCS Spring

The final eight title contenders for WCS Spring have been decided after two days of competition, with WCS Winter champions Neeb and Reynor joining 2018 Global Champion Serral in a stacked quarterfinal bracket. The third and final day of WCS Spring matches will begin on Sunday, May 19 11:00am GMT (GMT+00:00), with the remaining eight players contending for the first place prize of $20,000 and a direct seed to the 2019 Global Finals.

ro16 went pretty much as expected results wise, except for Goblin's victory.
SC2 is the best game to watch and was the best to play before I grew old and slow...

Perfect balance. Believe it or not sc2 is in a great spot right now.

Found the Protoss.

That being said, this tournament is looking pretty good. If only the same could be said for GSL.

I really wish there was a possibility of getting both Serral vs Special and Serral vs Neeb :/ sad the bracket worked out this way. Hopefully one of those is the final.

Great tournament, great games. Particularly impressed with the quality of the TvP games atm, lot of back and forth, some different strategies too. It's not often we get really good macro TvP games, let alone multiple in a series.

Pretty sick Ro8 with a bunch of top dogs and a couple unexpected surprises

Agreed. PvT may be slightly favored for protoss but nothing crazy. The real problem is the way it plays out terran does too many 2 base all ins, need to weaken the all ins a little and buff the terran macro play a little. Nothing drastic, just enough to get terran going in the later game and less all inning.

However, terrans are still winning that matchup plenty as shown by the only 54% PvT winrate for protoss on Aligulac in high level play. All other matchups are undoubtedly very well balanced. ZvZ just needs something to spice it up and not be so many stale roach vs roach games.

The balance of the game this year overall has been good. Some well placed tuneups and it could be great.

Very good looking results by race in this tournament (and many previous tournaments) and solid distribution of tournament winners by race in premier tournaments so far this year, 2 terran 2 zerg 2 protoss.

If Showtime plays like he did today when he has to face Special, I don't think he'll get his chance to fuck things up.

I like all of them, to be honest.
I would love for Serral to win again in 2019 but I'd be glad if Special or Reynor takes the tournament, as well; Neeb and TIME are probably the ones I'd like to see win WCS the least but I'd be ok with them winning, the players I don't like are already out.
