Facts: avilo didn't reach his goal and is keeping the money, but has promised to throw a tournament.

Thread locked since the matter is mostly settled. We can have another thread the next time he does something, I GUESS

The prize pool for WDT was a trip to Korea and a chance to become a progamer.
Social Justice is a fools errand. May all the adherents at its church be thwarted. Of all the religions I have come across, it is by far the most detestable.

Its a donation he can use it however he wants its not like you have a contract between you and him.

Its a shitty thing to do an im pretty sure you can do a charge back if it wasn't that long ago??

Other than that just don't watch his stream and support someone else.

Yeah but now it seems to me as if he set a very high goal that he thought could not be hit so he could pocket the money because he knew he'd get more donations then he normally would with his fake intent.

Honestly, this is the kind of retardation that makes this thread idiotic in the first place.

First of all, you cannot police twitch streams.
Second of all, i'll placate you and anyone else - i literally said if i did not reach the goal i'd be putting back some of the money i made in the last 30 days towards an SC2 tournament...

SC2 people honestly won't be pleased until they try to drive everyone that still plays the game away from the game and the community. Been in this community since the game launched, and the amount of ridiculous hate and bullshit thrown my way is really tiring.

I guess if he did say several times that he would put back some of the money made for a tourney then it's fine

Great work though TL! Leaving the thread up from an obvious "avilo hater" that has a 4 post account -_-

Before you responded, it seemed like an issue that warranted discussion.
After you responded, it still seems like an issue that warrants some discussion.

There is no issue. It's someone that's disgruntled and trying to stir up community drama. The thread is basically just attempting to defame/slander me, all because some person in the SC2 community thinks they should decide what i do with money donated on my stream.

Refer to my other posts in this thread.

This thread is just basically the usual "hate avilo thread" from some disgruntled viewer or someone that thinks they can try to hurt my donation income in the future through his slander saying i scammed viewers when i have clearly not.

I managed to visit Europe with one other for 10 days on $4k. Being from Texas and having been to Austin multiple times, including once for Dreamhack, I personally think $3k is plenty for the duration of the event.

The Dreamhack-specific donations should've been done through a service that can easily refund if the goal isn't met.

This thread is golden.

I always knew Avilo and Winter were perfect for eachother, now they can finaly live their love, united by fooling their fans. (just a joke, not acusing Avilo yet).

What does Winter have to do with this? And when was he fooling his fans?

Are you trying to get warned twice in one thread?

Honestly, as much as I think Avilo is.... (radio edit)... we need people like him in SC2. It keeps it interesting. Nothing beats that video of Vibe versus Avilo, I was laughing so hard at the end of it. I need stuff like that.

No we don´t. This guy has openly accused several pro´s of cheating and several non-pros and countless other people that stream (!) like this guy:

That´s why one of Jason´s friends made the video. It really hurts people´s reputation cause there are people that actually believe this crap. Not to mention the countless insult´s he has thrown at people on twitter and the comment section on youtube under his videos, in-game and most likely on other media. Just look at the video vs Vibe. " I spit over your mom." and then even expects an answer from his opponent. While Vibe also did some things that are not cool (making fun of his lisp), why behave so immature and not be the better person? He had the chance to show it and blew it. Instead he makes it worse by showing his immaturity even more instead of behaving like a 30 year old guy.
It really makes you wonder why his stream is even featured or why there hasn´t been any actions against him with all the cheat/hack accusing. In other games people would even get banned from the game.

Being a bad boy is one thing and you can always do that without throwing insults etc. Being toxic is a completely different thing. If this what the OP posted is just remotely true in the slightest (banning people from chat just because he asked about the donation money) then no, we definitly need not people like that and people should avoid him.

And here weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee gooooooooo...

Hoping a moderator will help out here. Nice obvious attempt from whoever made it to start another hate avilo bandwagon. I can't wait for more irrelevant posts about me to pop up.

But no one takes his claims seriously... do they? If they do then it is a problem. He calls every other person he plays a cheater.

But that Vibe video, so good...

So he bought his way back into TL's good graces? That doesn't really make up for the 20 dollar fee that everyone paid to the tournament organizers. Every single player got shafted out of money and an opportunity.

Personally I dont see how this is a scam. Avilo set a donation goal to go to an event, goal was not met, he is not going to event. No broken promise here as far as I'm concerned. Unless it's explicitly stated that you get your money back if the donation goal isn't met (i.e. Kickstarter with the all-or-nothing funding policy) I dont see why it would be expected to do so. And while I do think $3500 was a little high of a goal for attending Dreamhack, unless Avilo suddenly bumped up the target goal or something when it was getting close to the goal (highly doubtful since nobody has whined about it yet) I dont see why it matters, he said from the start what the goal was and it wasn't reached.

Right... except if I say I'm collecting money so I can donate 5k to the Red Cross, but I only get 4k and I say well I'm going to pocket this cause I didn't reach my goal... I am still a douche.

avilo has already promised to throw a tournament with the money that was donated to him. So the matter at hand is (mostly) settled.

If he doesn't end up doing that then we can have another thread about it. Thread locked.

Did not mean to imply that it did, I played the WDTour ladder too.
