Team Liquid Power Rank Proves to be Accurate on Day 2

Unpredictability on Day 2 of WCS Global Finals

The second day of WCS Global Finals concluded with a bang, proving once again that no surprise is too big for BlizzCon.

In Group C, the foreigner hype train was picking up even more speed, with (P)ShoWTimE's 2-0 result against (P)Dear arguably providing the first upset of the day. On the flip side of the coin, in the most anti-upset ever seen in the history of the game, (T)ByuN took down (Z)viOLet in such quick matches that even the One Man Army himself seemed perplexed. For a brief moment, viOLet seemed to bounce back, but he was eliminated from the tournament, going 1-2 against Dear in the Losers Match.

Group D was great news for Terran fans across the globe, as (T)TY took down (Z)Nerchio. Miraculously the mantle of foreign hope was passed on to (Z)Elazer, who defeated the five-time premier champion (Z)Solar in what's surely to be one of the most memorable upsets of the tournament. Not willing to let go of his share, Nerchio then in turn went 2-1 against Solar in the Losers Match. In the end, both Polish Zerg players are still in the tournament, and Solar's run has ended.

Tomorrow, we'll continue the Round of 16 with all four Winners Matches. The winners will make it to the quarterfinals, while the losers will be relegated to the Decider Matches on Sunday, with one more chance to advance.

Solar disappointment of the tournament.
Also Showtime will probably fall victim to the rematch curse.

Solar is a huge disappointment, but the biggest surprise is Elazer's win.

Not to say Elazer is a chump, but he was definitely considered an underdog here.

Nerchios performance in G2 versus TY was a showcase. The final score doesn't show what an awesome series it was and he was a force in G2/G3.

Oh yeah I still think Nerchio can hang with the big boys. He got rocked in game 1, but game 2 was perfect execution. Game 3 was a nail biter.

I didn't watch the Nerchio vs Solar, but I am sad Solar got knocked out.

Great job on gettysburg against TY. Your decision to semi tradebase/counter attack when he moved out with his massive tank/hellbat army was brilliant.

Indeed, although I think Dark is the strongest player here at the moment so that'll balance things out a bit as we get deeper into the tournament.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Really must suck to be a korean and play non-korean in a mirror zvz or pvp. 4-0 in non-korean favour for now. Really must suck to be a non-korean and play korean in a mirror. Koreans lead to 3-0.

Here's a fact, TY vs Nerchio game 3 was twice as long as ByuN vs viOlet. By which I mean the entire ByuN vs viOlet series.
Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes.
