The fact that he was hoping for a ZvZ frightens me. It would be so anticlimatic seing him go down first round.
I don't say this often, but go Nerchio.

Poor Nerchio, I'll be your friend!

no burden please Nerchio. whether u make ro8 or not, we already know you are not an ordinary player
This tournament is in Korea, and 3 foreigners (+ TRUE) vs 12 Koreans. It will be much harder for foreigners than playing in blizzcon in next month. I am kinda worry for them, and I hope they get rid of their pressure well before match
To be honest, there are some Koreans who really want a foreigner winning a tournament vs Koreans. So this scene won't die faster by that. The biggest reason for this is the region lock between Korea and rest.

If by "Change the perception of foreigners" he means "Make them think Lilbow's Blizzcon flop was the greatest moment for them" I might buy it

Nerchio is a good guy. After the tournament, we will see a new Nerchio. A modest Nerchio. No fun of Koreans, no trashtalk :-) Already in this interview, he talks nicely about Dark, about Maru ... he already started to pretend that his favorite matchup is ZvZ so that he has an excuse after the matches :-) I think, we will all like him with this new, much smaller ego :-)

Certainly seems the region lock created a lot of perhaps unjustified confidence in foreigners ability vs Koreans, which has been a cool side effect. And offline best of 1 style tournament results adding to that confidence for Nerchio. Then he just watches the top korean zergs play in the crossfinals and seems to do a complete 180 now that it's all close to becoming reality. It's rather unfortunate since this sudden lack of confidence may end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy for him. Best of luck to all the foreigners, but the BW player in me hopes they all get annihilated.

Somehow, it would be nice not to lose the old Nerchio. But it is almost impossible. If he loses both matches 0:3, he will feel ashamed and become "Silent Nerchio". If he gets out of the group, he would become the "Big Mouth Nerchio" even more. Maybe if he wins the loser's match and loses the other two, he could stay as he is. Or maybe, he could win the first match, lose with Maru in the final and then lose the decider ... I like that option :-)

Apparently the interview wasn't even completely translated. Also, I think the confidence is a huge thing the foreigners need. Nerchio doesn't seem scared. Simply respectful of their skill which is exactly what he needs.

looks like the hate hes been accumulating has gotten to him. Humbled-Zerg. i love the bet hedges subtely thrown in in all his answers. cant imagine how hard it would be to talk big and not back it up.

Based on this interview, I think, he is a bit scared ... he got scared in the last moment before the matches ... if he had to play tomorrow, I would be pretty sure about twice 0:3. Hopefully he finds his confidence before Friday so that the matches can't be compared to Lilbow ...
